  1. I got worried for a sec then as I was sure I got appropriate fans for the rads lol, but was a while since I checked the fan specs. Yeah Noctua is awesome but the original. Colour choice is not great. Black with brown corners is what I have, so not bad. All black would be nice but didn't fancy forking out for a tonne of new corner pieces lol. Push pull is something I would usually go for but my res is mounted to my front rad and my top rad would be a pain to put another set of fans on as it will interfere with my motherboard. Nice, I like being able to control multiple fans from one header, really saves on cable management etc. Sounds like the Lian Li has a decent setup.
  2. Great advice, out of interest what would you suggest as a premium fan with respect to high static pressure ? I have been using my Noctua's for now : https://noctua.at/en/nf-a14-industrialppc-3000-pwm Awesome fans but not sure if best ? The specs looks decent enough on my fans.
  3. Yeah that does not help either, Micron has the monopoly on that.
  4. This is an unsurprising move, kind of thought they may have jumped on this sooner.
  5. Hey Paradigm, Certainly good to see you here. Someone else I know from the good old days ! I hope you enjoy your stay with us. Sorry to hear you had a build affected by the mental markets, you are one of many. Fingers crossed it gets better. My self and others I know are in the same boat, it sucks but it what it is I suppose. As for the vision, well I certainly have one for the site, one of those long roads that seemingly will never end, at least not with the ever changing landscape. However I am looking forward to getting the core features of the site launched and set in stone . You have to have a good foundation ! Look forward to seeing you around
  6. Material cost looking around , approx $120-150. So as far as material costs, not much. However once you consider the markup and the marketing position (Only mainstream gaming GPU with that count of memory) that original $120-150 rockets.
  7. For the new guys, this is the EHW Community Folding Project. Just needs GPU's now and a sensible place in the house to run it. I am still tempted to get some decommissioned mining cards for it.
  8. I would not put it past Nvidia to fragment the 3000 line even further. Though let's hope they do not antagonise the consumer more by releasing more products you will not be able to buy for 6 months lol.
  9. To be honest, it is about time. Scary thing is that if the screws were not put to NZXT such as what Steve did at Gamers Nexus, this may have been glossed over.
  10. Indeed an accurate summary. I myself had to consider my GPU purchase for both work and play. However Nvidia really screwed the pooch this gen by supplying a high end card "3080" with an unsatisfactory amount of Vram, arguably in both gaming and productivity terms, depending on what you are running. I was considering the 6800/6900XT as AMD correctly this generation increased the VRAM to a healthy 16Gb and performance wise not bad at all....BUT their productivity and arguably gaming ecosystem is nowhere near Nvidia. This unfortunately semi forced my hand to go with the 3090 which is at the completely opposite end of the spectrum with too much VRAM. Of course a good chunk of the cost of that GPU is in the VRAM. Why they decided to bust into Titan territory I will never know. It forces consumers who want a decent GPU worthy of lasting possibly a couple of gens down a money trap I digress, I know nobody forced me at gun point to buy a new GPU but for those in the market are stuck between a rock and a hard place. AMD- Nice GPU Perf, Sensible VRAM - Not a great ecosystem - First gen RT - Questionable bandwidth - Better pricing = Gaming up to 4K , limited productivity......No go Nvidia - Nice GPU Perf, Mental VRAM (Increases price) - Great ecosystem 2nd Gen RT- Very expensive. = Gaming up to 4k with better perf than AMD, better productivity portfolio....Take all my money, like literally there is none left lol.
  11. Put it this way, until GPU's come down in price, getting the community folding project started in any meaningful way did become harder. For heat reasons I need to find a sensible place for the rig, Loft would be great but in summer it gets way toasty so running a rig up there would be a no no. I was considering putting it in my office in a wall mounted config BUT I fear the heat it will kick out will murder me. Need a room with decent thermal control lol. Will have to have a think.
  12. Much appreciated bud ! All put into the EHW account
  13. ENTERPRISE

    5800x temps?

I don't doubt it will be a while, somewhat complex application with a good few variables. I do look forward to it improving though.
