  1. Nice solution dude. I remember when I had a pair of Maxwell Titans, I strapped some fans to the rear of them as a ghetto solution to try and rid some heat off the backplate, it can work surprisingly well.
  2. If only it was that simple lol. These off the shelf dark these are nice, but will not play well with custom elements, as such it is easier to custom dev. Some of the off the shelf purchases for plugins etc are also either fully or partially encrypted which really limits our ability to tweak anything we need sadly

    5800x temps?

Just running the CTR Tool now. May create a thread on it.
  4. Have you tried the new Beta BIOS for that motherboard ? Looks like the new 1.2.0.0 AGESA is now available which will undoubtedly have some RAM related improvements. Might be worth a go before chasing anymore rabbits. https://rog.asus.com/uk/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x570-i-gaming-model/helpdesk_bios

Folding@Home 20th Anniversary celebration competition with prizes !
  6. This is related to some items occurring in the backend with respect to feature implementation. Will keep an eye on it
  7. It's in the Store > Donations https://forums.extremehw.net/clients/donations/
  8. This is the first step to a failed project I think, it never really took off. I just honestly do not think the infrastructure is there for the masses and frankly this has someway to compete against the console market, it certainly was never on the PC gaming level that is for sure.
  9. Arguably from a base forum standpoint, you would be right. However my goal is to differentiate the forum experience from others with key features, granted some of them are not unique only to this site but they are important. While we have tweaked this platform a little and put into place some features that are not a stock feature of the base software, the REAL enhancements are to come that will complete the experience so far as to what I expect from a tech enthusiast forum and not just "some forum" lol. I guess I am a stickler with my vision haha. I am for the moment also the moderator haha. It is indeed on the way, it is something I will be pressing on after the next Dev release which I'm hoping is this weekend ! Assuming there are no obstacles.
  10. Rig Creator Web Content Embed Wizard Premium Settings Section Dark Theme Custom User Status Social Icons These are the features that are up and coming. For me however the ones I would like to get on as a minimum would be: Rig Creator Web Content Embed Wizard Dark Theme The rest are on their way but not as critical. After that there are other features in the pipeline, again not critical but things like the Folding@Home stats section.
  11. Right now my priority is finishing the backdated features for the site as well as growing our portfolio with manufacturers with respect to product reviews, sponsorships etc. Much of the Sign ups here are from across the other board and through word of mouth and content exposure (our reviews). Right now I have not gone mental on marketing and promotions as I personally am not happy with the missing features. My aim is to promote when the site has reached a certain "maturity" level. Essentially, when I go full promo mode, I want signups captured by that promo to be like "WOAH, true next gen forum experience with awesome features". Right now it is not there, but once I have a few items completed (already underway), we will be ready. Even after that, there are far more things I have planned lol.
  12. There are plans for a marketing campaign in the future I'm waiting on a couple of bits to complete prior to moving forward with this.
  13. Hmmm, sucks. However if you just switch the port from default, that should help mitigate it.

    5800x temps?

Obviously the most ideal is separate loops for both the CPU and GPU, however that is easier said than done depending on the case you have. As for running at 90c under heavy stress/synthetic benches, that is fairly normal for the 5000 series. They can run hot when they want to, not to mention the temp spikes you get, which at first make you think you have messed up somewhere, but no, that is just the 5000 series. Have you tried playing with the offset voltage curve in PBO ? This will help with maintaining a good PBO boost while keeping those voltages down.
  16. Yeah that is exactly what I mean...once you remove the cooler and brace components you can save a chunk on the length for sure. It is a fair point regarding the evacuation of heat from the backplate. Obviously you want backplates with thermal pads otherwise the backplate is useless. I will be interested to see how hot the backplate gets on the 3090 with the EK Block setup....though I have to wait till March/April before the block is available as I cannot find another company who makes a block specifically compatible with the EVGA FTW3 Ultra Hybrid variant of the 3090...such a drag.

    5800x temps?

Nice setup ! I personally use Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut as my TIM of choice. If your MX4 is old and hard to spread etc, it may be time to swap that out. Good call on the second RAD. I put one in my setup ready for a GPU so I can cool the warmer water from the CPU block a little before hitting the GPU block.
  18. I have not just yet with my 5950X setup on my Asrock Aqua. I am hoping the new AGESA update now being released will yield some fruits in the DRAM stability realm as well as being able to push the Infinity Fabric further. At the moment I am at 3600Mhz on the RAM, though I'm on my phone and cannot recall my timings but will list them later.
  19. Exactly, it is about the community and that is where the main focus should always be. This is a place born out of passion, just like how certain other places were originally. However you will never be able to retain all of that if the all seeing eye is corporate. Private ownership with a passion for the subject matter and community is where it is at. It has been a bumpy road at the start for EHW with some technical hiccups but we are in a great place now and looking forward to bringing the new features online which are being worked on as we speak. Haha, well "Instant" sure would be nice BUT we get things processed a little more quickly here lol.
  20. Hey bud, Welcome to EHW. So there was no "Leaving" so to speak as still present "elsewhere". ExtremeHW was born out of frustration of not having the creative control to fully direct a community/tech site in the way I wanted and not being in agreement with money over community. Having been in the community business for a good long while, I figured it was time to start my own venture. Lots still to come so far as platform features etc. Really looking forward to it and bringing back some of the good old days.
  21. hmmm that is interesting, will look that up. Thanks !
  22. Yeah it is only getting water cooled either way, the thickness of the card is not so much the issue, it would be the length. Some of the cards are much shorter and thinner with a WC block as you say, especially the founders edition. The GPU I purchased should fit in my card length ways, fortunately it was easier to tell as the EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra cooler is as long as the PCB unlike some of the other variants. However fingers crossed I can still squeeze it in !
  23. Ahh right I see, I get it. Fairly limited on the cable lengths but if it is within the office space, who cares lol. I can just get SFP + for RJ45 If I decide I need to cable in other rooms etc. Thanks for letting me know That is true so far as the configuration on Windows, very simple. Just do not have the space or time to build a rig for it
