  1. Well I have seen the memes making there way through social media and it really does look like Sony take their design tips from routers lol. At least Microsoft stayed true to their design...its a box lol.
  2. Nice. Those rack mount cases are great for these types of builds, you should get a few HDD's in there for storage ! I am planning on doing a new Plex build, bought a Ryzen 2700x and will pair it up with a 1660Ti/Super I think. Will be a discrete build (Mini ITX) and likely with the Thermaltake Core V1 (But in black)
  3. If it is a dual PCB that will certainly make life harder for those developing WC blocks. It is possible but we may end up waiting a little longer on those aftermarket blocks, though I am hoping that the likes of Gigabyte etc will release them with a WC block as standard.
  4. Source: https://wccftech.com/nvidia-traversa...medium=twitter This could be interesting and lends credence to the dual fan cooler whereby they are in a top and tail configuration. I can also understand that there would possibly a small market in order to sell the co-processor only which would bring raytracing to non RTX cards but I think that would be such a small market, but hey they did it before with the Physx cards. The only odd thing I see with having the RT cores on the other PCB and no longer on the die as surely you are introducing an element of extra latency which would be undesirable. Only a rumour in any case.
  5. Who likes the design ? I am not sold lol.
  6. This is something I am expecting to happen to be honest, a mid life refresh.
  7. Yeah you gotta give Windows 10 its due, it still can run well on older hardware sets.
  8. I will have to test to see if I can replicate. Could you possible zip up the file you are attempting to use and send it to me in a PM ? Thanks, E
  9. I have not even tested mine yet, but as I am on a fixed manual OC I am not too worried at this point.
  10. Yeah, you are going to be ok with a non blower style. While preferable due to the case arrangement, I am willing to bet that it is not going to negatively impact your temps all that much.
  11. Makes me laugh...what is the point of a reveal...with no pricing ? That is 90% what people want to know lol.
  12. *Sigh* Good old Windows, glad you got it sorted though.
  13. Hmmm but the market is so saturated with Air Cooling products....it is not like we have lost any as of recent that requires a gap filling. Seems like an odd move to me, they really should stick to WC IMHO.
  14. Is it documented anywhere that Plex supports multi-gpu for encoding though ? Had a look and cannot find a concise answer to that one.
  15. Playing devils advocate here...While it is wrong and mobo manufacturers should not be exploiting. While the argument exists it could shorten the lifespan of the CPU, I would also argue that the majority of us upgrade before we see any degradation to the CPU anyway. Obviously that is not the point and we as consumers should not have hardware that deliberately harms other hardware BUT I reckon if this was never mentioned....most would never even notice.
  16. I would not even go for a reference card to slap a new cooler on. A. Due to the fact you will be paying a fair bit for a cooler you are going to take off for a better aftermarket cooler or WC and B. I prefer to wait for the AIB cards with beefed up power management etc and as you say the AIB cards eventually come out with WC blocks as standard.
  17. Good Info. Actually I identified the 1660Ti as a really good candidate for Plex last night due to the fact it has a Turning encoder and supports B Frame as the lack of B frame support was something I noticed from the prior generation, which MAY suck for the future. Not sure if I would ever use it but for future proofing it may not hurt to go with a 1660Ti. I would probably opt for that over any of the Pascal cards, though may have to do some digging to see if the lack of 2 NVENC chips will be a drawback or not, or whether the Turing counterparts no longer needs 2 due to efficiency improvements between generations ?
  18. Join the guys in this weeks podcast episode discussing the latest goings on. ENJOY !
  19. Thanks for the info, very helpful. I have been looking into a GPU for my next possible Plex build and been considering the best GPU for the job and I think a 1070, while a little more expensive will offer more in the NVENC department for satisfying multiple streams.
  20. Source: https://www-pcgamer-com.cdn.ampproje...ers-edition%2F To be perfectly honest, I do not mind the new reference cooler design all that much. Does not affect me even if I was as I tend not to go for reference design due to the FE "Tax" they put on cards, I would rather get a better card from an AIB. Odd to see a 3090Ti making the rounds though, looks like it will replace the Titan in my humble opinion.
