  1. Glad it arrived with you safely, will be interesting to see what you pop inside it. Ouch yeah a 2 month old can be a time sucker, this build may take you a while lol. As for the image uploads, please use the red camera icon to the top right of the editor. We disable image uploads through the attachments manager as it uses an inferior image optimizations. We in the future are hoping to make some changes to this area.
  2. Well I figured they would and good to see AMD giving users platform longevity.
  3. Thanks for that, I did not think of that one, I will have to give that a go and see if I fair any better. Down to one 2080Ti these days, sold the other as SLI is mostly dead. However Noir was a one GPU bench anyway.
  4. Nice ! Will get that downloaded and have a play. Thanks for all your hard work as always @1usmus
  5. Nice ! Glad to see a fellow Solidworks user ! That is what I use in my day job lol. Good to see that it does so well with so many parts. The one thing I wish Solidworks was, and that is less linear but the nature of all the rebuilds is linear, just blows as Solidworks really is a single core/speed lover over multi core (Unless you are rendering)
  6. Thanks to @franz for donating his prize money from the Fight Covid-19 Giveaway to the CFP !
  7. As you can all see, I am living it large.
  8. Those be some nice specs, but I just can never get over the pricing. I Accept that packing all that into such a small form factor is no small R&D task and there will always be a cost associated with that..but still lol. Oh and thanks for the typo head-sup, all sorted
  9. That is fair enough. I probably will go with 2nd option as it will be just as easy as the first option so far as time wise, but also makes more sense to me to stagger the rad intervals, even if the different is negligible to none lol.
  10. Personally if I was going for a streaming device I always prefer to pay more for the overall spec of the machine, just so all bases are covered. Out of that list I would likely have gone the Shield route.
  11. They kid of do. Any motherboard with a Bios Flashback option can flash ab to the board for recovery reasons or for updates and it does not need a cpu co carry-out the process. Unfortunately Bios flashback is considered a premium feature, so you tend not to see it on the low end boards... certainly not ones meant for mining. However I purchased a Celeron G4920 to pop in so I can flash to the latest BIOS and do any other testing to see if we have a Bum CPU or board. Want it done soon as if I find any bum parts I can get refunded.
  12. Completely agree. The thing is I guess it comes down to self restraint. Back in the good old days you did not need as much restraint as most things (even if you wanted to stay at the upper performance levels) were not on such a frequent refresh cycle. I am still getting Ampere and likely ignore Hopper, I cannot see Hopper being a monumental release, not so soon after Ampere and Hopper is only a shrink down by 2nm.
  13. The CPU does have a fairly heavy OC 4525/4500/4500/4350. GPU I tend to only give light overclock as it is rarely needed. If I were to go with a secondary RAD (To be on the safe side) which of the loop options in the OP would be the best to go with ?
  14. So we had a little set back today. Seems that the board shipped to me with an older BIOS revision meaning that it will not boot with the CPU (i7-9700) we have. Oddly it does fully boot and the only diagnostic light that is active is the one that refers to lack of boot media and not the CPU. All I know is I get no video out using onboard on either HDMI or DVI. I also tried multiple screens and a re-seat of the CPU but nothing, so I will assume the board cannot utilize the CPU properly. So I will go ahead and get a cheapo CPU that was compatible with the mobo at launch to ensure compatability, flash to the latest BIOS and pop the back in i7-9700.
  15. Source:https://www.notebookcheck.net/DigiTimes-report-suggests-the-Nvidia-Ampere-GPUs-launching-in-late-2020-may-be-replaced-by-5-nm-Hopper-GPUs-one-year-later.464133.0.html If so, that escalated quickly !
  16. Who needs monitors anyway Also it looks like Nvidia may be breaking its two year (or so) GPU cycle as its being suggested that Hopper, on the 5nm node may be with us in 2021, possibly to counter AMD. https://www.notebookcheck.net/DigiTimes-report-suggests-the-Nvidia-Ampere-GPUs-launching-in-late-2020-may-be-replaced-by-5-nm-Hopper-GPUs-one-year-later.464133.0.html
  17. Thanks for the heads-up. I used Ubuntu on my last dedicated rig as it happens, though do not remember a huge amount haha but good to know I can depend on you too for some assistance
  18. That is sweet, you gotta love those modders.
  19. So I may not even need to install an additional rad ? Granted I know the water temp will be elevated when you add a GPU (especially when the GPU is under load), so I thought an additional rad would be required in order to keep load temps under control. I mean I know and additional rad will help, but as to how much is beyond me.
  20. Nice ! Thanks for that, will add it to the table. I have started the build today, what a pain lol. When it comes to the type of case I am using, you have to make up your own cable management as you go, it will not look pretty but it will certainly be a workhorse !
  21. Nice one bud ! I am still down right now on the folding front but really itching to get back into it, though I will be down to one 2080Ti as I am selling my second one as SLI is dead lol.
