  1. Hey guys ! So I have a great update. The kind people over at Overclockers UK & TeamGroup have sponsored this build and kindly sent over a Team Group Vulcan T-Force 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 PC4-19200C14 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit of RAM & an TeamGroup 250GB Vulcan SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 3D NAND Solid State Drive A huge thanks to them for helping us towards our goal ! However it is not over yet.... We have yet another very kind donor. @InverseTundra has been kind enough to send us over a EVGA G2 1300Watt PSU , 6x PCI-E Riser 1x to 16x Powered USB 3.0 GPU Extender Adapter Cards & an 120GB M.2 Drive (For Backup) Please join me in giving thanks to @InverseTundra , Overclockers UK & TeamGroup for their generous support
  2. Fair enough. Is it something you have to keep applying on every boot or can you create a profile to be loaded so you do not have to keep plumbing in your preferences ?
  3. Looking self sufficient there, veggie patches and your own livestock eh. Living out the Covid-19 days in harmony
  4. Dropped the OCN Ducky Keyboard down to £75 for quick sale: https://extremehw.net/forum/the-storeroom/folding-home/5572-extremehw-community-folding-project?p=5573#post5573 More news on the project to come a little later
  5. It is a great concept, I showed your rig to my partner yesterday and she loved it, though it was really ''Cute" especially the fact that it had a little handle so you can carry it around. I have not built any small rigs around her yet so she used used to my massive beefy towers...then I bring home a rackmount case for the CFP...so yeah she does not see small rigs often haha. Something we need here in the UK and possibly US are more artisan modders that provide services for others. I miss those days
  6. Just as a small note I have had to pause my folding temporarily to assess some electricity usage as we have a high bill but not sure whether its Folding or coincidental, gotta rule out some factors. In the meantime, made some great progress on the CFP, more on that soon.
  7. That must have been a decent meet by the looks of things. I think if Intel was to ignore or at the very least not capitalize on the gaming market, that would be a mistake. Of course a lot of performance comes from well optimized drivers, but one can only hope Intel can back up drivers with competitive hardware.
  8. Hmmm, I wish that there was a one for all tool where you could adjust what program uses what and it gets listened to by all other apps and Windows. I have seen some of the tools but they either do not work as they should or they are convoluted. I will take a look at process hacker though as I have used it.
  9. You never know, will also be interesting to see what Intel throws into the arena with their GPU's. Not sure yet if they are serious about competing on a high performance gaming level with Nvidia/AMD. Will have to wait and see.
  10. Interesting results, but ultimately for those folding on non idle or dedicated, I would assume you could see better results by setting the affinity yourself ?
  11. That is a sweet looking build ! I agree the Noctua IPPC fans are rocking. I put them in virtually all my builds these days, or if not them, then its usually another Noctua product.
  12. Yeah the shafting by Nvidia with newer models less than a year down the line is absolute crap. However like yourself, with Nvidia having the better performing cards, you are stuck between a rock and a hard place lol.
  13. I have some results ! Not sure Gsync was getting on with the Firestrike benches as my monitor kept going black lol. All benches run at default settings. 3950x Overclocked (4525/4500/4350/4300). 2080Ti's at +100Mhz Core & + 600 Mem
  14. My bro plays Animal Crossing, I should get him to sign up get his ID in here, then everyone can be Animal Crossing friends
  15. For anyone interested I have a Galax HOF 2000 Watt BIOS. Essentially there are no power limits on this BIOS. Great if you want to set your own clock and voltage curve limit and not have the cards speeds go up and down. Obviously though you would need to ensure you cool your card adequately depending on how mad you were going with in. This works on non reference cards. I have had it running on my EVGA FTW Ultra Hybrids just fine and those are a 2x8 Pin PCI-E power configuration. The Galax HOF actually has 3x 8Pin PCI-E power configuration but the BIOS still works for 2x8 Pin on a sensible OC. You can see the BIOS attached. Galax HOF 2000WATT.rar
  16. It comes down to supply channels as to what components they can still get but I agree that ideally they should note the revision with a new model number.
  17. I really need to test these types of Flags as my client is still folding in vanilla. I will apply some and see what difference it makes. @NavJack27 What is your theory with those flags and CPU, increased PPD ?
  18. I own 2x 2080Ti's. Last time I checked I have +125 Core and +700 on memory. Though I bring it to stock for folding as the OC is not Folding stable. Still have to find a Folding stable OC. Overclocking is still applicable BUT with things like processors being so highly binned these days and with decent boost algorithms, its less needed. Though OC is still applicable if you want that all core OC.
  19. I agree, A concentrated group effort goes much further than a larger rag tag group of people. Let's face it, when the Covid hype dies down, lotso teams output will drop when the wannabe folders get bored and drop off the scene. I dont think LTT will keep their spot much after the world goes back to "Normal"
  20. We are now the owner of a new i7-9700. Got it for £245 which is still not bad.
  21. I am currently looking at one on Ebay for £180, but its bid and has about an hour to go, this is an i7-9700 that is.
  22. No problem I have fixed it on the first post for you, oddly enough the embed link that Google give you never works so you just take the Sheet ID from the standard sheet link, for example see below image. We are however going to have a new system for all site embeds in the coming future to make it easier. Thanks, E
  23. I am still rocking my Huawei P10 Plus. Great phone, still no incentive for me to upgrade. Sure there is "Better" hardware out their now, but nothing I would take advantage of...nor see the operation difference.
