  1. I have tried VR, I liked it. Perhaps it is the old school gamer in me, I still love rocking the chair, keyboard and mouse.
  2. Huge thanks again for the generous donation. I will keep an eye out for it and will get it into the build ASAP !
  3. I purchased a Samsung 860 1TB to replace my Sandisk SSD which for some reason refuses to work nicely with my mobo.
  4. Hey guys, So I am possibly toying with the idea of adding a GPU to my loop. Currently only the CPU is under WC. My question is however, what order should the loop be in. My immediate thoughts are as below RES OUT -> CPU IN -> CPU OUT -> GPU IN -> GPU OUT -> RAD 1 IN -> RAD 1 OUT -> RAD 2 IN -> RAD 2 OUT -> RES IN Or RES OUT -> CPU IN -> CPU OUT -> RAD 1 IN -> RAD 1 OUT -> GPU IN -> GPU OUT -> RAD 2 IN -> RAD 2 OUT -> RES IN I was thinking about it and it was for some reason starting to hurt my head lol. I am not wanting to do a separate loop for the GPU as I am trying to make it as simple as possible. Never added a GPU to a WC setup so a little new to this one. I would have through option 2 was the best as you have a RAD in between the flow which I would imagine would keep a better balance so far as the overall cooling. I have the Be Quiet Dark Base Pro 900, I currently have a Black ICE GTR420 RAD to the front of the case. These boys are bulky, so I am not so sure I will fit one of these bad boys to the top of the case, so I am thinking the Black Ice GTS 280 RAD would be better. Any suggestion are always highly welcomed
  5. That is a sweet update, so stoked that you got the mod to work ! Nothing like getting free performance...well almost free lol.
  6. Hello all, It is that wonderful time again, it is time for the EHW Podcast with the team. Listen to episode 28 below. Enjoy ! [video=youtube_share;_v-7J4J3TeM]
  7. Pretending you don't want one, I see what you did there
  8. Added blurb and table to the second post for all to see the data [GS]1Hu9VcbUci_axnOKowXLad2BRKMC-ft-k0GqPcrBeqpU[/GS]
  9. Linux will be the way I go for this machine, Windows for testing initially but the finished build will go the Linux route. May indeed need some pointers on that one, I have done it before but it was a while ago now. Sure, keep posting those stats. I will make a table of them for the OP as well as it is useful information.
  10. This is somewhat interesting speculation, but seems sensible to me.
  11. Yeah in reality the Xbox is really just pre-build gaming machine PC that has access to virtually all of the MS library. There will always be a market for console even if they are virtually a PC, just means less excuse for crappy ports lol. That being said, lazy developers be lazy sometimes.
  12. Well it is clear that the loss incurred will vary greatly from WU to WU. That will be the trade off to this type of build. However nonetheless the contribution the rig will give will far outweigh the losses due to bandwidth. On another note the CPU Cooler, Fan Filters and GPU PSU (Part 1, ATNG 1300Watt Mining PSU) has arrived. This will enable the rig to be setup and tested so far as the main components to ensure all is good. Once I receive the rest of the components for InverseTundra then I can complete the base build fully.
  13. Yeah not having owned an AMD card in a while I don't have a comparison to base anything off. The last AMD GPU I had was the 295x2. Now that was a beast of a card but as you eluded to in your post, the power draw of AMD cards back then were crazy in comparison to the green team. I think they have tightened the gap since but will have to look at a current gen AMD card versus a current gen Nvidia card. I tend to not look at the power usage of a GPU as it was rarely a concern.
  14. Thanks for setting this up, hugely helpful and gives great insight into this. So it looks like a 10 second increase on Time Per Frame is the penalty when going to 1x...at least for this WU type. Will be interesting to see what other data you come up with. I can see this being very useful for anyone considering a mining to folding rig conversion. I will likely make a table of this info as it will be helpful to others. Thanks bud !
  15. I wonder what the real reason for this is. You cannot really blame Covid so far as a software development point of view as by the time Covid hit, some of these titles should have been virtually finished already...if not finished. Granted however I can imagine that disc production may have been impacted by Covid with factories on the lockdown. Looking at the article though it is good to see that Halo Infinite is not an Xbox exclusive, will clearly hit the Master Chief collection at some point then.
  16. Thanks to @iamjanco for purchasing the Ducky Keyboard ! Proceeds will go towards the next purchase of components !
  17. Don't get me started on AMD drivers. Granted their cards have been underwhelming IMHO hardware wise, but they really shoot themselves with their drivers. Rumor mill makes it sound like that their next round of cards could possibly be head turners...but even if they are, the drivers just make me cry lol.
  18. Well I did do some Google searches and from what I could find out, the 1x bandwidth does bottleneck F@H but only by a few percent. However if you do come by your own hard numbers that would certainly be very useful ! As for the Nvidia cards, it is very likely the route I will go just for raw performance and the fact that I am more familiar with Nvidia folding over AMD (Granted not a huge difference but there are nuances)
  19. The 1080Ti has been a great card and still is. As for the 3080Ti, I may also wait for the FTW3 version of the cards, I own the FTW3 versions of the 2080Ti and they are great.
  20. Looking forward to the next release for sure :thumbs_thumbup:
  21. Welcome to EHW @1usmus Good to have you here with us !
  22. Thanks for sharing, their is always something you need to remove and re-install, a little like turning it off and on again lol.
  23. Don't be jealous, just send all your GPU's my way I am toying with the GTX 1070 or similar AMD GPU, need to see what GPU is similar to the GTX 1070 in folding just to look at costs.
  24. Good news is the CPU is here ! Nearly have all the components for system build step one and testing.
