  1. Those were fantastic days. No BIOS signing, unlockable pipelines/shaders. Those were the days where you got the best bang for your buck. In fact I remember ATI back then not really caring about the fact you could purchase a lower model card and turning it into a high end for free. I enjoyed that relaxed philosophy. I guess we have CEO of ATI (Pat Hassey) at the time to thank. Alas, someone noticed this lax philosophy was eating into profit margins :angry_angry:
  2. Hey guys, Who here has delved into Control ? I have to say it is a game that has really kept me wanting to play, seems to have been a while since I found a game do that for me. Fantastic game play and mechanics. I love the paranormal and mysterious elements, really takes it to a new level. What I will say is that the game kind of throws you in at the deep end, no gentle introduction here! But persevere with it and all becomes much clearer. I must admit, at first I was like ''WTH is going on'' lol As for graphics, they are fantastic in their own right and the physics I certainly cannot complain about. Those who own an RTX card, this game makes proper use of not only the Ray Tracing elements but finally you see DLSS shine. I know this game is on Console, but in reality this is a PC only game if you want to really experience it at its best, but lets be honest, we can say that about most games right Remedy have certainly done well, but I expect no less from those who created Max Payne (yes another series I love). Check Control out ! Played it ? What are your thoughts on Control ?
  3. My daily driver lol......the Corsair Vengeance 1500.
  4. My BB sucks, about 25-30 down. However I live very rural, I am however investigating 4G net which pricing wise is comparative to what I am paying for my slow landline connection. If only 5G were here...though if it was it would cost me an arm and a leg in order to get it sorted.
  5. Yeah that is fair enough, its not a heavy gaming machine, though I am sure it pulls its own weight ! Gsync is nice but lets face it, it is not the be all and end all.
  6. Banned for banning ! P.S Imgur BBCODES revised. You now just have two versions as per the two different icons, if one does not work, try the other basically. Imgur are really annoying and depending upon content type, have a different iframe setup.
  7. Ahh that is a shame, I am assuming it is not one of the monitors that got Gsync support recently ?
  8. Oh nice, bet that was a nice performance boost GPU wise for you
  9. What GPU are you running in it now ? Or is the R9 Nano the new one ?
  10. Gotta love those gifts ! Glad it went smoothly, looks great.
  11. Really like the graffiti look !
  12. Oh nice ! That is one sexy looking box. How long did that build take you ? I can see you already had some parts in hand from your parts list...you have to love hording parts right !
  13. Long time coming, it is good to see Intel doing some panic stations for a change.
  14. I agree, the reasoning is not consistent throughout, I guess it's up to us to make the overall determination but I am 100% with you regarding Laptops and silly refresh rates, there is just no real use case for it in my humble opinion. Not only that but in order to really take advantage of such a high refresh rate, you will need a decent GPU which are seldom found in laptops that can push that far, even some of the top spec. Do not even get me started on phones with high refresh rates.
  15. Yeah, ideally website owners should have been taking responsibility a good while ago with HTTPS. Some of the challenge however are websites that host content from pre-HTTPS era which will cause the mixed content which will cause linking and content breakages.
  16. For security, fantastic for ease of site integrations, this can be problematic as you would need to ensure all your site integrations are pulling data from other HTTPS domains. That being said, all sites should be on HTTPS in this day and age. Source: https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/chrome-will-soon-block-sites-that-mix-http-and-https-which-could-include-some-favorites
  17. Gaming laptops anyone ? Source: Link
  18. A shame it was not adopted well, it was a great product for the Intel NUC range however. Source: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-discontinue-kaby-lake-g-amd-graphics,40577.html
