  1. It is likely due to a recent dev change un-related to Rig Creator. Will disable for now, thanks for letting me know. P.s, the new Rig Creator is not installed, so you cannot put prices in yet.
  2. For the money, the Rog Ally X still win for me if I were splashing cash on a handheld. The battery in the Zone is not all that fantastic either.
  3. Which drive did you defrag? If mechanical fine, if SSD you should avoid doing that as data management is different on an SSD and defraging an SSD causes additional writes to the drive, leading to a shorter lifespan. It is however possible that initiating the defrag on the SSD ran a TRIM operation. TRIM is what you want to run on an SSD and TRIM by default should be carried out by the OS. However there are ways to force it manually.
  4. Correct, the damage has been done and that is hard to recover from for this generation BUT if media outlets can show it's fixable through software corrections, AMD can claw something back. I agree, if AMD's guys used such an old codebase....well dummies lol
  5. You state when you first installed the OS you were getting transfer speeds of 140mb/s. Is this still the case with other file transfers ? It is important to discover if all file transfers are affected first as it could indicate a change has happened to the OS since fresh installation such as drivers or a Windows Update.
  6. It is possible some performance can be clawed back once AMD gets it together with their software and works with Microsoft on OS to CPU behaviour. I think it will be worth media outlets rechecking benchmarks once the dust settles.
  7. Source Note...You can only achieve this through command line. They are still enforcing the limit through the GUI. Why go half way lol.
  8. Hello all. For the sake of transparency and to avoid possible confusion I wanted to announce that I have imposed an edit limit on content of 30 days (This grace period may change as required). This means that from the date of a post, you have 30 days to make edits. This will not affect the vast majority of users. That being said, for long running topics or clubs whereby the first post is usually updated, we can unlock specific topics to allow updating in those instances. The reason for the introduction of this limitation is to protect the integrity of content. In reality this sort of limitation is pretty standard across most internet communities, however until now, I was not happy with the prior way of implementing the limitation as there was no way to unlock specific topics which would have created an impossible situation for users to maintain clubs or topics where the first post is continually updated. Fortunately this is no longer an issue. For those who are needing to update a topic and have found that it cannot be edited, please send me a PM and I can allow it to be edited. Thanks all, E
  9. Hello all, We will soon be updating our Rig Creator whereby you will have price fields next to each inputted component in your rig. All prices input on components will be automatically added together to form a total rig cost. So for accurate rig pricing, we encourage people fill out the prices where possible In order to carry out the changes, the current field used in your Rig Creator profiles "Rig Price" will be removed upon upgrade. As such any price input prior, will be lost forever. If you would like to record your rig prices, please take a backup. Many thanks, E
  10. How many times have we been here before lol. Something mentions an element related to HL in code or other document and everyone goes OMG HALF LIFE 3. I mean if true, I certainly would not be mad, but colour me a sceptic for now.
  11. This was great coverage and confirmed my suspicions as well. ZEN 5 is nothing more than a ZEN 4 refresh and certainly not worth upgrading to if you are on Zen 4 already. I had not planned an upgrade for my 7950X 3D anyway as it still chugs very nicely. Fingers crossed ZEN 6 will offer something more meaningful. AMD sort of bungled this one. If Zen 5 was as good as the other generational uplifts/better then they really would have put the hurt on Intel. Intel actually caught a break with AMD's fumble.
  12. Not sure on that one. Have you tried a different BIOS to see if that behaviour is possibly a bug in a newer/older BIOS?
  13. Yowzer. They had to see this coming though. Frankly this is wjat happens when you are covering something up. If they had been up front about the issue in 2022 the pain for all concerned would be much less.
  14. I watched GN and LTT review coverage and while I knew I would not be blown away by performance, I was pleasantly surprised to see the Power/Thermal savings on this new generation, very impressive. I wonder what the refresh would like or what the X3D variants will look like. Still likely to skip this gen unless the X3D is particularly exciting.
  15. Single generational changes do not tend to lead the meaningful real world gains anyway. I wasn't looking to upgrade as I reckon the next generation after the 9000 series will make more sense.
