  1. Oh right, I thought it was your own personal router, but yeah I can see how that would be a problem.
  2. I for one hope they don't consider their dedicated GPU division as "bloat". We need GPU competition and they have made great progress with Arc. Would be a shame if they scrap it
  3. Nice catch. I have correctd the typo...two of us missed that somehow lol.
  4. **Update** So after having the Deco units setup for a little while I can attest that the performance is excellent on the Wifi and I am getting 910Mbps Down & 886Mbps Up, on my laptop. So I am very pleased with the speeds I am getting. The mesh on the Deco also seems consistent and stable as I have not had any drops or outages and roaming around the house is seamless and there is no disruption that I can see when your device is handed over from one mesh node to another. However there is some alarming downsides to these units that you will only discover upon purchase as it is not made clear on the product page, nor was it really bought up in the reviews. 1. In order to setup the devices you are forced to create a cloud account with TP Link. Yes that's right...You can do NOTHING with these units until you are signed up. Furthermore, there is likely usage statistics data sent back to TP Link. 2. Setup and management of the units are done through the phone app ONLY. See point 3 for more detail. 3. The Web UI is completely gimped offering only the very basics in router/AP management as TP Link have decided to force users to use the phone app. So if you are expecting to have a full web UI management experience with the Deco series, it isn't going to happen and furthermore the phone app while certainly offers most things are missing some features you would inherently expect including but not limited to things such as Backup/Restore, MAC whitelisting, Manual Wifi Channel Selection. Granted, they are actively adding new features to the app, so hopefully in time these will be included. There (rightly) is a large complaint thread on the TP Link Forums from hundreds of users demanding a proper Web UI interface as there a multitude of reasons why management via a phone app is untenable. I also posted my concerns. Unfortunately it is TP Links stance that irrespective of consumers complaints they are going to stay the course with the phone app...which is complete madness. You can see my complaint as posted below. So in summary, these are excellent devices so far as the hardware and the speeds achieved and when used in AP mode, the lack of a Web UI is not a killer issue, hence why I have decided to keep them. However in router mode I could see that managing these devices would be an absolute nightmare. Can I really recommend these to others, realistically no...for all the reasons above and per my post on the TP Link forums.
  5. Thanks for the Intel...pun intended. I for one cannot believe that they are not giving you a fresh warranty with the replacement CPU's, that seems out of order in general but especially considering the issues Intel have had with these CPU'S. Out of good faith they should be offering everyone affected a full new warranty.
  6. Great topic. I get my information from a multiple news sources, actually most from my Google feed. Based on my set interests and the algorithm I get a decent set of information from a varied set of sources which includes VideoCardz, Techpowerup, WCCFTech, Tweaktown, Techradar, Toms Hardware etc. So far as Youtube, I watch whatever peaks my interest but generally speaking I watch Gamers Nexus and LTT. Hardware Unboxed is also a great one. JaysTwoCentz I do not watch for information but more for entertainment, the same could be said for LTT as well. Other information I get is based on specific searches which usually lands me in other company specific forums, sometimes reddit and github.
  7. Comments sent to the developer to collect thoughts.
  8. I cannot control what others do outside of EHW. It is up to others to use their own decision making on whether to ignore posts from users that they do not like.
  9. Either that or they are spammers trying to look legit prior to a spam strike. That being said, a company could certainly create fake scenarios to create some form of traffic. ChatGPT can even be used to form posts for them if they wanted.
  10. While Intel is still the big boy on the block, there concerns seem small and there reply not only weak but very late. I think they should be more worried what a threat Ryzen poses to them, especially in light of this fiasco as it will only drive users to AMD.
  11. Thanks for the suggestion. I do not see a drawback by creating a rig total this way, though I would make the price fields optional for each component, otherwise having it mandatory could be the difference of someone entering a rig profile or walking away. I will speak with our developer at some point in the future about this alteration.
  12. I would imagine the likes of Gamers Nexus etc will re-run benchmarks to compare pre/post microcode update performance to see if this move gimps the processors ability to boost etc.
  13. https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/intel-finally-announces-a-solution-for-cpu-crashing-errors-claims-elevated-voltages-are-the-root-cause-fix-coming-by-mid-august
  14. Looks like this competition has gained some excellent submissions, definitely something I would like to do more of
  15. Thanks, I have actually been waiting for GN to release this video as they eluded to some theories based on insider information they received. Will have to sit back and watch this later. If it were me and I had a CPU from the affected series, I would be bummed out.
  16. Just as an update, I ended up getting the Tp Link Deco BE85. It ticks all the boxes for now and will hold me into the future for a fair bit considering that these will hold me over when things start to slide into Wifi 7 compatibility. The Deco95 ultimately only offers an additional wireless band and for the price increase and the fact I would have to import these as they are only in the US, it just didn't make sense. I will give some feedback once I have set them up and played around with them a little but.
  17. I personally wouldn't have the time But someone else might be able to. Have you never watercooled before ? Outside of AIO I mean. I only ask because if you have, creating your own AIO would be relatively simple.
  18. Nobody will be able to objectively tell you what TDP your setup will be able to handle, too many factors such as ambient temp, airflow factors, fan type, case , cable management, GPU positioning etc Ultimately you should just go with the TDP rating of the cooler, not what fans you will use or case modifications you make. TDP ratings are king. Assuming you get a cooler with a TDP greater than your CPU output, then you are looking good. Any other changes you make to improve airflow in your case or using better fans with a push pull config will aid in your cooling but these changes are supplimentry and shouldn't be relied on to give you adequate overall cooling.
  19. I wouldn't delid it just based on the fact the CPU has a high failure rate and once delidded there is no way Intel would honour a replacement.
