  1. Source Definitely an advantage. Granted the access to any other system memory will be slower than onboard GPU memory, but depending on the application, it may not be an issue.
  2. Source Goes without saying that other partners will also be releasing updates.
  3. Thanks all for the help with reporting. This issue should now be resolved
  4. Thanks for letting me know, I had not checked to see if it was strictly a layout issue, I just knew that essentially getting a blank page was problem enough lol. Thanks guys for the additional info relating to browser type etc.
  5. Awesome, thanks for replicating and reporting! I was aware of this from day 1 of some changes but I was unable to get my dev to replicate. Now that we have some others experiencing the same issue, this means I am not mad and it is not a my end issue. Can you guys confirm that you have attempted to clear cache and this is still an issue ?
  6. This has now been resolved. Thanks for your patience
  7. Reopened - Quote button resolved.
  8. Hey guys, We are in the process of reviving the HWBOT widget as shown below. This widget scrapes information from the HWBOT site and we are updating the widget so it works again, however it looks like HWBOT has made a change to their site as I can no longer locate the information for the "Top 5 Contributors" section of the widget on the HWBOT site. Am I blind or have they removed it ? I cannot see it on our team page. https://hwbot.org/team/extremehw/ If they have removed it, I will just select a different stat to show in its place. Thanks, E
  9. Temporarily locked for diagnostics.
  10. We did really well last time, would be great to see us kick some butt again!
  11. Hello all, We are aware that in some areas of the site that the "Quote" button is not working, this is a side affect of some assistance we are receiving from the platform developers for another issue. We hope to have it resolved as soon as possible. Many thanks, E
  12. Thanks:) Yeah definitely. Without a heatsink NVMe Gen 5 drives almost immediately get too hot and throttle back hard. Having some form of heatsink is a must. As I said in the review, you don't have to have a crazy solution, but at th very least you should use your motherboards in built heatsink cover.
  13. Not bad at all if true, will give Intel something to worry about.
  14. All good questions. It goes without saying that we are experiencing advancements at an alarming rate. I use alarming as while technological advancements on the surface are excellent, we are experiencing them at an ever quicker pace which begs the question, are we going to fast without really realising the negative effects? Are we doing things now my just because we can, while blindly heading into an abyss. Only history can be the judge of that. The word in 20 years technology wise will be leaps ahead of what we have now and whilst we can speculate where we will be and what we will have, its still hard to imagine living it. Time will tell. Ironically Microsoft took back the title of most valuable company.
  15. Absolutely nuts how in the past two years they have just carried on climbing that ladder. However they correctly capitalized on AI and diversifying their product range so they deserve the success. Even if it sucks they have no competition and for us standard consumers means we will still be paying over the odds for GPU's
  16. Hello all, This is a friendly reminder that my door is always open with respect to any concerns or grievances any of you may have this can include: - The site, features, possible bugs & anything else technical related. - Members - Maybe a member shouldn't be doing something, or they are causing some unnecessary friction. - Actions taken by moderators (on the forums or Discord). - Management - Perhaps management including myself has caused a concern. The above is not an exhaustive list, but you get the idea. Ultimately, if you do not report a problem, I cannot help. So please speak up While I cannot always promise to resolve a situation, I will do my best to find a way forward. The best way to get my attention will be via direct PM. While I do my best to catch @mentions whether on the forums or Discord it is possible I will miss them and have very much done so in the past. Thanks, E
  17. I feel victimized again
  18. Exactly that, this is why Recall needs to be secure. Imagine how damaging that could be if malware could obtain all or even part of your recall history. So many people save in plain text logins on their desktops or other areas. I can see it being a potentially huge problem.
  19. Ultimately I think it will come back, but hopefully with some additional security parameters to restrict compromise. While it said that recall is stored locally only on a users PC, and for now we have to go with that tagline until proven otherwise, I would still like to see Recall being harder to access from the local PC, whether it be password/Biometric protected using something other than your Windows login. I do not like the fact that if someone knows your Windows password/ you have left you PC unlocked that someone could potentially swoop in and navigate your PC history. Not cool. Not only this but unless I have missed it, I would expect that the recall feature be fully encrypted. Of course I mean completely outside that of something like bitlocker/similar. Recall itself should have its own independent solution regardless of any OS level encryption. Would I find Recall useful, possibly on the odd occasion as a supplementary tool, but my first port of call would be my own personal backup scheme I already have running. I would rather use my storage space on my PC for Work/Games and general storage, not to fill it up with Recall backups. I have a NAS for that lol.
  20. Yeah.....the AQC**** parts are an issue. I was stung by that this gen. The drivers were causing such high latency that audio was skipping etc. ironically I ended up getting a trusty Intel X540 card and all is well. Mobo vendors really need to use Intel and not AQC or Realtek, one can dream.
  21. 10Gb is becoming more and more relevant, especially as it is now considered affordable for your average consumer. For me, I run a NAS device, and I at times do large file transfers and having 10Gb makes life more efficient and means less time my PC has to be left on just for a transfer. Hell, even with smaller files, its just nice to have quick transfers. Not to mention it allows for more concurrent transfers with less of a penalty. I do not have USB4 on my current mobo but in the future it would be nice to have. Of course we have only discussed external I/O and nothing of people who want to take advantage of Gen5 drives which right now at least you can only get on high end chipsets. To be fair, anyone wanting to take advantage of the latest faster storage technology will always be forced to the higher end chipsets as thats how vendors stack their product lines.
