  1. Not much of a coffee guy but I do drink 1 monster zero every morning. Michele, on the other hand, is a coffee nut. She has the expensive bean grinder, ninja brewer, and is very particular about what beans she gets.
  2. Updated original post with prizes that were donated. If anyone else has anything else cool to give away, shoot me a p.m.
  3. Like HU let the Dogs Out!
  4. Welcome to the ExtremeHW 48-hour Folding Competition, August 19-20th 00:00 *UTC* Countdown to Event Start Countdown to Event Stop ^^CLICK THOSE IF YOU LIVE SOMEWHERE NOT UTC TIME ZONE^^ How to participate: During the competition you must be folding for Team 239902 You must post in this thread with "IN" followed by your folding username (if different than forum name) for prize eligibility. Stats: You can view the stats for the foldathon here: https://ehwfoldingstats.lazypenguin.com Prizes: p.m. @damric if you have something suitable to give away* @neurotix is offering two paypal grift cards of $50 and an EXTREMEHW Mug from the official store. He said each of these are random draw with 5 WUs completed to qualify. Folding Time Prizes: tbd Excluded from Prizes: damric, firedfly. iamjanco, Cerberus Mind the EVENT START TIMER as it is UTC time zone. Note: Stats are updated as soon as possible, but less frequent than desired. Just keep folding! Note: Extreme Team Members remember to use a different pass key than your ETF key (If you don't know what that is then it probably does not apply to you). Folding is stressful on hardware, and will often break an overclock unless it's been tested with folding. I do not recommend overclocking high end GPUs as the power draw can be extreme while folding. If anything, try tuning for energy efficiency. Casualties happen and EXTREMEHW can not be held accountable if you destroy your hardware while folding. Thank you for your participation! *must be approved so please send message in private before posting.
  5. https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=u8aXJPGsno8&feature=share Was pumping iron to Sepultura this afternoon.
  6. Play around with lowering the memory clocks if you can. Folding isn't very bandwidth intensive compared to gaming or mining, so finding the spot where you can drop the RAM clock and keep the same performance will also save some watts.
  7. Bump for @mx500torid This is very relevant with people's power bills exploding during this heat wave. This helps especially if you have a high tier, high TDP graphics card, and even more so if you have multiple. For the last several folding contests I was running my RX 6900XT at less than half power but getting about 80% of the ppd. Not heating up the office during the summer!
  8. Who's bringing the bag of prizes next month?
  9. Avacado makes the video. I post the video. You watch the video Next is probably the weekend of August 19th, but that date isn't firm yet. I will make an official announcement at the beginning of the month.
  10. @Avacado @Bastiaan_NL is this true we can't just disable cores?
  11. Alrighty, I pm'd @tictoc to pick his winner for the graphics card. For my donated prize, it looks like the t-shirt is not available at this time so I'm switching that to either a hat, or a mug+coaster. The winner of that is @HaRdLy007 so Jeff pick the design you want from the EHW store and PM me. For next month I'm looking around August 19-20th and I'll announce that around the beginning of the month or so. Thanks everyone for the great work!
  12. Indeed. Some humongous amounts of points and work units! I'll roll the dice for my random winner tomorrow after I confirm with @ENTERPRISE about the t-shirt. @tictoc would you like to draw your winner yourself? If not, @Avacado has a cool wheel of fortune thing he can spin for you.
  13. @ENTERPRISE I see the tshirts are removed from the EHW store? I was going to give at least one away but I will have to change that to hat unless you can confirm that's fixed.
  14. You talking about overriding in MPT? Never had any luck changing the fclk with that, too unstable.
  15. Yeah pretty much just go here: https://foldingathome.org/start-folding/?lng=en Like said above, make a folding name, and enter our team number 239902. Using a pass key will allow you to get huge bonus points for quick return. https://foldingathome.org/support/faq/points/passkey/?lng=en Your hardware in your main rig is very good for folding, but I would tune it for efficiency instead of all-out clocks. Folding eats electricity but you can still crunch units fast while conserving power.
  16. Power went out here too but only briefly. Some extreme lightning storm after some extreme heat and humidity today. Internet was out for a bit too.
  17. This is how I'm running the 6900XT during this heat: Basically I found maximum folding stable clock for 800mV.
  18. Going to run one card in super low power mode to keep the heat in check. It's been 120F heat index here for a while with no hope for it letting up in the near future. Air conditioning is having trouble keeping it just 85F but at least it is dehumidifying.
  19. I knew you could beat me Nice work! Good job everyone!
  20. I love it! Can't wait to try it on my next sub!
  21. @tictoc is graciously donating an EVGA RTX 2080 BLACK GAMING as a random draw prize (5 WU minimum). I will add this to the OP with pictures of said card in the morning.
