  1. I think everyone agrees that the inaugural 2023 event we had back in March was a success. We had a few hiccups along the way, and we want the community's feedback on how we can manage the next event to make it even better. Post your ideas in this thread, and the planning committee will seriously consider all input for the 2024 event. Some concerns of my own: 1) We ran into trouble with import duties/tariffs on the prizes for Canada, which caused some of us some significant personal expense to get those ransoms paid and get the prizes delivered. We also had some shipping expenses for one vendor that sent one of us a big prize box and had us distribute it ourselves. We can't really control how our prize vendors operate. We were actually quite blessed with the sheer amount of merchandise they donated. I have my own idea to help alleviate the burden of incidental costs associated with running the contest, and I'll post that below. 2) Was 96 hours the right amount of time for the challenge? 96 hours is pretty brutal when you are folding on every machine in the house, but some people said they are open to a longer challenge, possibly a week or 10 days. Personally I have mixed feelings towards that, but I am curious to see what the community thinks. 3) I want the event to be about 3 weeks sooner than last year, which would put it towards the end of February. Would that be cool?
  2. First thing I would do is try and clone those drives externally to new drives, just in case it's the drives dying. There's an nvme cloning kit on amazon for dirt cheap. But it sounds like something screwy with the South Bridge chip. They run really hot on AM4 already and that might make them more prone to fail.
  3. I'm not sure about the voltages. I can't seem to read them. I tried those 3rd part drivers but failed to get them to work right so I went back to older crimson drivers. I did get a time spy benched today while sustaining around 1670MHz. That was using overdriventool and trixx to push the power limit to +100%. At one point I had it at 1700MHz while testing but it was hit or miss on whether or not Time Spy loads would crash on start. If I can get it to start the bench, it's fine. Maybe I need to back the HBM off since I had it at 1GHz. I'll play around more tomorrow.
  4. Alrighty I finally got a chance to work on this again after having to put it on the shelf for a while during the Team Cup. Looks like TRIXX allows higher clocks via higher power limits, but it's a bit sketchy on whether it will crash or not once I apply. If the bench can start, it runs flawlessly though.

  6. Congrats Team! @elblat You won the hat or mug+coaster. @T.Sharp You won the random draw of the DDR4 if you are in USA. If not, I'll have to redraw. You guys message me and we will get those sorted.
  7. Indeed and my ebay luck has been terrible this year with this sort of thing. If it turns out to be a scam then I'll probably just get one of the cheap generic ones that has software voltage control.
  8. Well it was described as TOP, and the pictures looked like a TOP, and it costed me twice as much as the generic ones so it better be a TOP when it arrives
  9. I have 5950x and 6900xt and whenever I fold on the 5950x it crashes. It's a known problem with these for some reason. I tried both pro, whql, and adrenaline thinking it was my 6900xt. Increased my psu, put bios in default settings, nothing helped. I finally found some some posts and someone mentioned only folding on one of the chiplets using process lasso. I'm testing that this weekend. So far no crash. We'll see.
  10. My ebay offer was accepted, so I reckon I'm IN on this one. I was hoping to use my very good HD 7850, but ASUS TOP GTX 560 will do.
  11. Added an additional prize, but I'm not shipping that RAM out of USA
  12. Been rebuilding my folding rigs all week and hope to have the main one chugging along very soon.
  13. Looking forward to seeing the debut. Don't get frustrated if you run into some kinks along the way.
  14. Looking good! I'm guilty of keeping and using very old thermal grease as well. I finally finished a big tube of the MX-4 2019 edition last month That is weird with the 6+8 pins.
  15. Already? What hardware will it be this time? I love cheap!
  16. No worries. When you get that monster up and crunching it will truly be marvelous!
  17. Maybe needs 10 work units for the quick return bonus
  18. Weird. Maybe it just needs a little more time to update?
  19. AFAIK you don't actually need to use the same pass key. I've experimented with this and you could use your own pass key with the name Hertz and it would still put the points on his name, just under your key. Try this today or whenever by running a WU like that and see what happens. The last time I experimented with this was with the TPU Kreij account back in March. I'm not saying I might not be wrong though. @BWG has the Hertz key. He has been retired from here for a bit though. Could try and reach him on the discord server.
  20. I hear you, but it's a bad trend for both brands. I long for the days where they factory tuned these cards for descent power draw and leaving a nice chunk of OC headroom instead of slamming the clocks up nearly to the silicon limit.
  21. That's the last of what I have for this year's TC https://hwbot.org/submission/5345799_ https://hwbot.org/submission/5344229_ https://hwbot.org/submission/5335701_
  22. Yeah man need more stuff. All that's in the store now are two stickers, a hat, coffee mugs and coasters.
  23. @ENTERPRISE I love using the EHW merchandise store for folding prizes. 1) Where are the t-shirts? Are they coming back to the store soon? 2) Need mouse pads and drink coolers/coozies! 3) Stickers are nice but we need some magnets! 4) Ball cap is ok but can we get a beanie cap and a bandana?
