  1. I hear you, but it's a bad trend for both brands. I long for the days where they factory tuned these cards for descent power draw and leaving a nice chunk of OC headroom instead of slamming the clocks up nearly to the silicon limit.
  2. That's the last of what I have for this year's TC https://hwbot.org/submission/5345799_ https://hwbot.org/submission/5344229_ https://hwbot.org/submission/5335701_
  3. Yeah man need more stuff. All that's in the store now are two stickers, a hat, coffee mugs and coasters.
  4. @ENTERPRISE I love using the EHW merchandise store for folding prizes. 1) Where are the t-shirts? Are they coming back to the store soon? 2) Need mouse pads and drink coolers/coozies! 3) Stickers are nice but we need some magnets! 4) Ball cap is ok but can we get a beanie cap and a bandana?
  5. It's that time again. Contest starts about a week after the HWBOT team comp is finished so hopefully we can get some bench rigs repurposed in time for this.
  6. Welcome to the ExtremeHW 48-hour Folding Competition, September 23rd-24th 00:00 *UTC* Countdown to Event Start Countdown to Event Stop ^^CLICK THOSE IF YOU LIVE SOMEWHERE NOT UTC TIME ZONE^^ How to participate: During the competition you must be folding for Team 239902 Stats: You can view the stats for the foldathon here: https://ehwfoldingstats.lazypenguin.com Prizes: p.m. @damric or @firedfly if you have something suitable to give away* 1) From damric: overall points winner gets choice of 1 EXTREMEHW Ball Cap OR 1 EXTREMEHW Mug and Coaster set from the official merchandise store. 2) From damric: PATRIOT VIPER STEEL DDR4 Performance Memory. 2x8GB DDR4-4400. Link Random draw, 10 WU minimum to qualify, USA only. Folding Time Prizes: tbd Excluded from Prizes: damric Mind the EVENT START TIMER as it is UTC time zone. Note: Stats are updated as soon as possible, but less frequent than desired. Just keep folding! Note: Extreme Team Members remember to use a different pass key than your ETF key (If you don't know what that is then it probably does not apply to you). Folding is stressful on hardware, and will often break an overclock unless it's been tested with folding. I do not recommend overclocking high end GPUs as the power draw can be extreme while folding. If anything, try tuning for energy efficiency. Casualties happen and EXTREMEHW can not be held accountable if you destroy your hardware while folding. Thank you for your participation! *must be approved so please send message in private before posting.
  7. I agree with your points. The MI25 is truly a labor of love project at this point. For performance at just about anything your money is better spent elsewhere now that the worst GPU crunch is over.
  8. I'm probably going to keep it a bit longer to play with the nime drivers after the team comp is ended
  9. I'm guessing that with the 16GB of HBM that these MI25s might become popular again for cheap AI servers.
  10. Excellent. When the HWBOT team contest is over I'll have my bench free to mess with this card again. I wonder if power play table mods work as well to allow over +50%? I had my Vega 56 and 64 sliders unlocked to 150% which meant over 400W
  11. @LabRat with the nime drivers were you able to boost power limit at all? The biggest problem I have with the MI25 is that it only wants to stay in the 1100-1200MHz clock range. I was able to push my Vega 56 to sustain over 1700MHz and a Vega 64 to just at 1800MHz (under water) with power play mods which was much more gratifying
  12. Hell yeah R9 Fury is still a very powerful folding@home card.
  13. Original KISS version is cool but when I heard this cover I started banging my head and shaking my fist in the air: God of Thunder - YouTube Music MUSIC.YOUTUBE.COM Provided to YouTube by The Orchard Enterprises God of Thunder · Death Human (Deluxe Version) ℗ 2011 Relapse Records Inc. Released...
  14. Sorry I misplaced my good metric tape measure and had to use the fugly stanley Photos-001.zip Also this is the 120mm fan 3D printed adapter:
  15. For the Team Cup Geek Bench? This will be very fun!
  16. @LabRat I linked @Lifted to your TPU thread where I got all my knowledge of this project. LIfted those dimensions that LabRat gave you are the right ones. If either of you want to purchase my card with the waterblock mod, let me know. I'm trying to downsize a bunch of stuff. The MI25 was a very fun project but I feel like I wouldn't miss it since it's been sitting on shelf for 3 months now. I also have the 3D printed adapter for 120mm fan through heat sink.
  17. I'll take a look at it today and measure. Another option is 3D printed fan adapter for the stock cooler. I am terrible at linux so I flashed it in Windows 10. I used a system that had video out through a 5600G APU graphics.
  18. Well we need you on the HWBOT team and our Folding Team!!! @Avacado @Bastiaan_NL @firedfly
  19. For the team challenge, a weak sub is much much better than no sub at all. If someone afterwards has a better sub yours won't be counted so please at least try. Your best bet for the clock frequency is just lock in all cores to a set multiplier. It can certainly be less. My 5950X I only sub'd at 4GHz because of the heat but it was still a descent score. What weighs the heaviest is our team getting all of the categories filled and we still have a lot of holes.
  20. I made a $40 bid for a ryzen 3 4100. They are new for about $60. I don't think it's wise to pay that much or for the 5300G. They are asking too much for those quad cores.
