  1. Okay, I drew prizes for this months foldathon.

@tenchimuyo93 and @axipher please pm me here on the forums with your PayPal email address.

Payments will not go out until the 27th at the earliest and the 29th at the latest. Partner is out of town currently and she controls the pursestrings. Lol.

Great Foldathon as always guys. Thanks @damricand @firedfly

  2. Yeah this must be pretty terrible for you. I have issues with my 2nd CCD on my 7900X3D not boosting properly in benchmarks (it stays at 5.2 instead of going to 5.6) and I've tried everything to solve it, worked with Asus as well as AMD and nothing has fixed it. It sucks when you have a problem with a rig that you cannot fix.

  3. Hey @J7SC_Orionwhat motherboard do you have? Is it this?

I am highly considering getting a different board to see if 1. I can clock my RAM higher and 2. If I can get 5650MHz boost using PBO for benching.

I am sick of thus pos Rog Strix X670E-E gaming wifi board.

Updated it to AGESA 1.1.0.1 today and it still didn't fix my 2nd CCD boosting problem for benching. It topped out at 5.2GHz running 3dmark11.

Unfortunately the new bios included a LED controller update that made it so when I rebooted to Linux, it would not keep the colors I had set in Windows and was doing animated rainbow puke after it POSTED. Back to the older bios now and that fixed it. I guess I'll stick with it and deal, I will probably talk to the wife about a new board after the holidays.

  4. Huh. A few years ago for Christmas my mom got me a handheld air compressor that was wireless, because I use canned air too, and it was terrible and had no force behind it.

For really dusty PCs, I use a Shop Vac that has a detachable hose and either a suck or blow mode (lol) and I use the blower and the thing moves a ton of air.

I used to use canned air in my rigs, and the electronics wipes that come in a can, but those leave clothy residue behind everywhere. So, I have switched to just using 70% isopropyl alcohol pads on the inside of the rig- all over the inside of the case, on the dust filters and even on the top of GPUs since backplates became standard. Never had a problem with it thus far. Been doing it that way for years.

Unplugging the rig and moving it into my work room and blowing it out with the shop vac works too but with how bad my pain has gotten I have trouble doing that. This looks like it might be a good solution, and I'd no longer need the alcohol pads. I'll see if my mom will get it for me for Xmas. I like that it comes with various brushes too.

  5. Okay, nevermind on:

    File size limit

    Animated gifs

However, I agree about putting it to a community vote on round vs square avatars, and can also understand why you wouldn't want to mix the two (which might not even be possible and would require custom coding if the setting is in a style sheet.)

Personally I like square better as it shows more. If there's any chance of having the dimensions increased, that'd be cool too.

    Thanks E and everyone else.

  6. What is the max filesize for an avatar, and is there any way to get the site to resize them without having to manually do it?

And yes, for pretty much every avatar I've used, I've had to shrink it manually using Simple Image Resizer (a website).

My vote would obviously be for square avatars, just because they would show more.

Also, jan I like what you just posted (identicons)- they look like Atari VCS aka 2600 sprites XD

  7. Hi guys.

I'm suggesting, if it is possible with this forum package, that we allow a choice between a round or a square avatar.

Further, I am suggesting a higher file size limit, possibly the current one for regular members and larger for premium members, as well as allowing larger dimension avatars.

Finally, I am wondering if we could possibly have animated gif avatars too.

    Thanks for the consideration.

I just don't really want to get into those long shipping delays, ended up getting a Keychron Q6 Pro + Kailh box jade + keychron keycaps because it was not going to take years to get anything.

Also, funny I bought MX Blues as well because I was worried I wouldnt like the Kailh switches... but the MX Blues feel so plastic and inconsistent in comparison.

    Got any pics?

How do you like the Box Jades?

My first custom build was a GMMK with Box Jades. Now I have one with Box Whites, Box Navy, Box Pink and Box Pale Blue.

With mechanical keyboard stuff if you get the parts within a year of ordering it, I call that a win lol. It's a niche hobby run by small shops. On top of that, look at a calendar. This is the busiest time of year for shipping things.

As far as buckling springs go... If you want to try those, buy a Unicomp. Don't care what you've heard or remember from back in the day. A brand new Unicomp will be much nicer than some clapped out old board. If you managed to find a unicorn new old stock model M that's been hiding in a climate controlled storage for a couple decades, it would set you back more than buying a whole stack of fresh Unicomps would.

This is coming from someone who actually owns a Unicomp. I have typed on an IBM model M, but never side by side. I was also a child back when I last had access to an original.

Thanks Flux. You're right about the time of year too, and getting something within a year (which is why I don't do group buys or drop).

Yeah, I used a Model M as a kid in typing class when I was a kid. We had a Macintosh at home. I can vividly remember the sound and feel because it was SO better than the Macintosh keyboard at home.

You are also very right about the Unicomp and they would be better than even the cleanest Ebay board that would set you back $200 from what I saw. New springs.

I've asked for a lot this year PC wise from my girl, so I'm thinking of waiting like til my birthday next year to ask (July).
