It came quite close to merging with NBCUniversal, according to Puck's industry sources. Comcast CEO Brian Roberts considered handing control of NBCUniversal over to EA CEO Andrew Wilson in a deal that would've seen the two companies form an entertainment giant. But the negotiations eventually stalled when the two parties couldn't settle on a price.

Already knew about Ubisoft, but surprised to hear EA also wants to be acquired. Maybe they should merge and someday we can have Tom Clancy's Battlefield for maximum monetization.

He's been dead for almost 10 years and Ubisoft is still slapping his name on everything.  Most gamers probably don't know who he was...they recognize the name only from it being in the title of so many games.

Yawn. Not interested in NBC making games anymore than EA. I hope they realize that monopolies aren't a good thing. But why not? NBC, Comcast and Disney already own like 99% of traditional media already. Maybe this will pave the way for new game makers? Or maybe games will die a slow micro transactional death. Who knows.

I would prefer to keep these names out of the pocket of larger entities just for the sake of keeping some independent studios. However there are there are times where the studios have lost direction, whether it be passion or financial etc and some good can come from those Studios being absorbed. Especially if said studio is responsible for a well loved series that for whatever reason has gone down hill over time, sometimes a fresh injection of cash, talent etc can revive studios/titles.
