Raptor Lake breaks the 6GHz barrier, and it’s not even the flagship

Knew this would happen witch stock speeds being so close to 6ghz and now it has.

Right. E-Cores disabled. People are already doing this on ADL. Just look at the intel open compo. No mention of voltages or temps. I would need to take a look at the CPUz main/mem tab to really get a feeling for how it will be. Synthetic benches yet to be challenged as these chips no longer have AVX512. It's going to be interesting for sure.

I didn't see how they cooled it. I'm hoping something room temperature air/water, but I am assuming they chilled it.

Honestly I think Intel is doing E-Cores to fluff core count to compete with AMD for marketing purposes (actual multi core performance / benchmark differences aside)... they just want to be seen with a similar amount of cores to be seen as "on par" but then again, I dont have a great deal of information on these new generations of chips.

I dont know much about this stuff but why are the core temps all over the place if they are all at 6 GHZ? Why would they not be the same? The desktop is in english and the cpuz is in Japanese or something. Wouldnt they be the same language? Yes call me skeptical.

Well I would not be impressed at all if they only hit 6GHz on LN2. Phenom II C2 could do that...

 

But if we're finally getting close to 6GHz on ambient air or water then color me impressed.

Agreed. You have plenty of people that can boot ambient at 5.6-5.7GHz on the recent few generations. So we are close to 6GHz! 

 

So there is a good possibility it is just liquid cooled, but most likely its chilled at least.
