The SSU also found at least 5,000 SIM cards used to create and maintain fake social media accounts and 200 proxy servers to spoof IP addresses and avoid being blocked by websites. Special custom software was developed so the farm operators could automatically manage the accounts across the most popular social networks.

It will be interesting to see exactly what disinformation was being posted from those accounts.

 

I have noticed certain subreddits with tens/hundreds of thousands of followers went from a few thousand new posts per day down to 10-50 new posts per day overnight in February. So I do have an educated guess as to what that disinformation is.

Agreed wholeheartedly!  We're clearly in an information war and have been for some time.  Enough is enough.  I say we demand the truth, and nothing BUT the truth.  These bot farms, regardless of who operates them, are only there for one purpose, and that's to spread false information and propaganda.

Just remembered that i got like 3 bot account on my Linkedin.  They use fake picture from thispersondonotexist website for some reason and send you ad for job and like your profile to act like a really friendly person
