Based on the information we have, it looks like AMD will be hosting a product announcement event later this month which will focus on the specifications and prices of its Ryzen 7000 "Raphael" lineup and will also allow motherboard manufacturers to reveal the preliminary prices of their boards. As far as this event is concerned, it will take place on 29th August but you won't get to purchase Ryzen 7000 CPUs until two weeks later.

 

Based on a previous leak from AMD themselves, it looks like there will be four SKUs on offer at the start which would include:

• AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
• AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
• AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
• AMD Ryzen 5 7600X

Really interested to see how the next CPU gen race plays out. Now that Intel and AMD both have very mature high core CPUs and are focusing on IPC and clock speeds again, this is really becoming a good market again.

I feel like Intel won't be as fast as we expect.  But am waiting for AMD.

Yeah I have to say, the IHS could het very messy with a little too much TIM. 

 

On the other hand, will be interesting to see how this pans out with Intel. Bypassing this gen personally, but will be interesting nonetheless.

Agreed. Alder Lake turned out to be very competitive, so Raptor Lake vs Zen 4 will probably likewise be a nice matchup.

Yeah, me too. My 5900x and 5800x3d are more than enough for now, plus I have a ton of DDR4 that cost me an arm and a leg back in the day and now that I'm retired, that fixed income has me slowing down my upgrade cycle.

Same here.  I'm absolutely MORE than content with my 5800x / 6900xt build.  I was happy on my 3770k and RX 580 up until like 2 years ago or so, when I built my Ryzen 3600 / RX 580 (upgraded to 5700xt), and I only built that because my CPU failed when I delidded it.  My monitor actually drove my upgrade when I picked up my giant ultrawide, moreso than my need for a better rig at 1080p or 1440p.

Pretty much where I'm at. 4790k and 980 suited me fine until I upgraded monitors. Did older stuff ok at 1440p, less so newer games. Now with the 4k definitely happy with current setup and I assume will be for a nice long time.

Would love one too!  Look like a older Sabertooth motherboard but more modern

UPDATE: Some source report that maybe the release date will be delayed to the 27 of September.

The same date as the announcement of Intel 13th gen.

Would not surprise me at all if AMD went in hard like that to steal some thunder.
