Considering Mo-Ra3 Pro.

Hello all, 

 

I need some guidance. So I am looking to play with the Mo-Ra3 PRO. 

 

I have a few questions. 

 

1. Does anyone know of a decent PCI-Bracket that has the G1/4 Compression fittings on ? I am looking to run my current tubing out the back of my PC to the Mo Ra, with out having to go DIY on my case. 

2. I am also looking to use Quick Disconnect fittings . So I am thinking for the inside of the PCI Bracket, will be be normal fittings and the outside Quick Disconnect so it is easy enough to disconnect the case from the Mo-Ra, even possible ?

2. How are people powering and controlling the fans which will go on the Mo-Ra, outside of the case ? Trying to think of something relatively neat.

3. I have seen the Arctic 12 Fans mentioned before, would these be a good match ?

Answers:

1. See what @Diffidentrecommended.
2. Yes, you could do that using something like Koolance QD3s or QD4s. If you go that route, opt for the nickel plated fittings instead of the black ones. Historically, people have had flaking/corrosion issues with the black ones.
3. That's dependent on what size MO-RA (360 vs 420); AND if you opt for the 420, whether you go with 9X 140MM fans or 4x of the larger Noctuas. 
4. I can't speak to the Arctics, but I imagine they'd be okay. The MO-RAs are low restriction as far as static pressure/fan speed needs go. Me, I've used the 140mm SW3s, but am now moving to the larger Noctuas to cut down on clutter (see the order I just placed below). 

 

 

It's actually cheaper for me to order directly from Watercool than from someone here on this side of the pond. No sales tax, and no shipping charges if I hit the 500 Euro mark (even with the crappy exchange rate Paypal offers).

I have a huge 1080 rad Avacado sold me, similar to what you're doing. For #2 I just used PWM extender cables from Amazon. They were cheap. To power the 9 Artic P fans I'm using an OCTO, also sold by @Avacado. I think he runs his own wc store

 

My next project is to mount this * into the window. I already have the tubes and stuff for it. This way I can draw in cold outside air when it's cold, and push the hot air outside when it's hot. Well it's almost always hot here in sweaty balls Mobile, Alabama.

I read somewhere the Mo-Ra is more restrictive than for example this

There a XT60 variant but it not in stock or a 1260mm xt45 too.

 

Review are really good for the p12 fan so i went with this too.

For fan control. I just ordered a PCI Fan controller and going to try to wire it via a external power supply so i got like 10 fan head and a potentiometer ajustment.

Could be--we're talking two kinds of restriction here. The first being against the flow of cooling fluid (e.g., water) internally, and; the second being how difficult it is to push/pull air through the cooling fins. I was referring to the latter (cooling fins, push/pull air through them) when I made my post.

Did not even see that part of your post. The restriction i have read about was internal tubing. Can't says if it good source though.

For fan i people seemed to says they where close enough to not require push pull.

Another note the Alphacool is almost half the price.

This allows me to connect the OCTO to the PC for Power as well as for USB (For Aqua suite control). However I need to get a Male to Male Molex cable to connect from the Molex on the Phobya PCI Bracket to the OCTO. I have only had a quick look and cannot seem to easily fine one. Any one seen those ?
