Sorry to hear that, is it still fixable?

Ran out of time to properly troubleshoot, but I'll fiddle around with it some more tonight. I'm not too concerned since I haven't tried anything.

So I had one of those weird crashes/restarts again, this time on the "third" system which can be seen in the low update on EOC.

The system did not show up on the HFM app, but with the wireless connection I've had more of those things happen.
I turned the monitor on, and it was still running. I only checked for a second, cause I was "busy" playing Valhalla and did not notice that it was actually frozen ?
An hour later it still wasn't showing up on HFM.net, so I went back to the system only to notice that it was actually frozen, big facepalm moment :classic_laugh:

After restarting the pc it was showing the windows update thing again, just like the main system did. But that one did shut down, instead of freeze.
Just to be sure I turned the GPU oc down a bit, but I'm pretty sure that's not causing the problem. Nothing to see in the logs, so I don't know what is wrong..

If you the folding guru cannot say what is wrong how can we mere mortals help?

The latest version of W10 from Microsoft is a bit wonko.
I am not sure if third party devs are to blame or Microsoft but my machine is weird too.

USB peripherals bugs, Discord locking my machine, etc.

Windows 10 64 bit pro, all the 3 systems are legal copies.
It only happened one time on 2 of the 3 systems, just waiting for the third one now :classic_biggrin:
The mouse error is only on the main system though.

Well, if we would only receive "good" units it would be nice. The lowest I've seen was somewhere around 5.8 mil ppd, usually between 6 and 7 million and with some of those good u nits it's over 8 million.
It is a beast though, not only in performance but also in size and powerdraw :classic_tongue:

I crossed 500M points recently, but @Bastiaan_NL just hit a whopping 1B points for EHW! Congrats! Absolutely wiping the floor with us, haha.

Congrats on the 500mil @Supercrumpet and thanks for the kind words guys :)
I received the power bill a few days ago, though I knew what was coming it was still a lot of money :classic_blink:

For now the clients are getting ready for the FaT for the other forum, after that they'll return here!

@Minotaurtoo It's not about how much you do, every unit helps! It took me a year to get the first 15 million back in the days, keep it up ?

@Bastiaan_NL Thanks ?  There is a bit of story that I don't know if I ever told anyone at OCN... I know I haven't here yet... but I got into folding because of my wife... I found out that FAH was using peoples PC's to help find cures for cancer...which she had a very slow type of... then her health went down hill... and over time I found more and more that the things she was suffering from were included in the research pieces being sent out.  It makes it personal.  So instead of using a space heater to heat my office/bedroom area, I use my PC... win/win as I see it... Funny bit though, I kinda miss my old Vega card on those really cold nights ?.  I'd get more points if I folded year round/all day, but it gets to hot in here if I do that.  During the folding event, I have intentions of getting all my PC's that can fold involved... Interesting fact: My 3900x limited to 100w is getting almost the same PPD as my old fury x did.

That's a sad but relatable story how you got into folding.
For me it was my brother who had Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer, though he went through hell he recovered from it. A few years later I found out about F@H on OCN and decided to give it a try. At that time I lived with my parents, and they never had a problem with all the hardware folding, the power draw(which I paid for) and the heat. That heat is a problem like you said, I have some sort of office where 2 of the systems are. It doesn't really matter how hot it is in that room if I'm not at home, and I just shut down some hardware if I need to work in there on hot days. In the winter it's the best room to be in, nice and warm :)

Don't forget we have OCN and EHW foldathons this coming week, good source of extra heat for those of us in the northern hemisphere...

I'll be there for it... At least for the latter bit... have to work the 23rd

I'll have 3 cards ready, maybe another one if the owner is not at home :classic_biggrin:

I stopped folding on the CPU's for now, even with 4 cores and 8 threads free for the GPU client it still impacts the TPF by a lot (up to 1.5mil ppd less). There should be a way to bind those cores to the GPU client, so the CPU folding does not delay/interfere the GPU client. Besides that, good units on all 3 GPU's compared to "bad" units makes a difference of over 4 million points.

I use Process Lasso for that, I lock the GPU fah_core processes to specific physical core affinity then lock the CPU ones to different cores with their SMT counter-parts, then lock my audio related tasks (Voicemeeter, etc.) to other physical cores.

I should give that a try. Do you use the free version?

Yeah, free version does what you need, just has a nagging window on start-up, but if you leave your machine on for long periods of time, that shouldn't even be an annoyance.
