Nvidia is finally making long awaited, much needed changes to their graphics card software. Available now is a new beta application simply called the Nvidia App, which greatly improves the software experience for Nvidia GPU owners. One of the biggest new features with the Nvidia App is that you do not need to log in to use it. That's right, no more log ins to access driver updates and other features that were previously restricted in GeForce Experience. Finally!

Glad to see this, it should have happened long ago, but better late than never.

I'm with Steve on that one, glad to finally be able to use a more polished GeForce Experience again after abandoning it altogether when they made sign-in mandatory. But still I hope the information density of the old Control Panel will in some way be kept alive, I don't want to dig through however many levels of menus to find a setting like with the new Windows settings app.

Wonder if it will have built in OC support like AMD's does. Somehow I doubt it.

Doubt it, Nvidia would likely see that as giving users the ability to OC and hang onto their older GPU's for longer. I think Nvidia would prefer you bought their latest and greatest

Saw this news a few days ago and FINALLY indeed! I haven't installed GeForce Experience in years and used the control panel minimally. Seconding what @Monsterkater mentioned though, app overhauls always have that potential to make things a little more roundabout to access at the same time, though I'm sure it will be a net positive.

I would have also assumed no OC controls, but I was listening to the newest digital foundry podcast and they said Nvidia is actually planning on adding OC controls.

Honestly, looks good. I'm not a big fan of complicated GUI and I've always liked classic NVCP. However, it's very slow and does feel archaic when you can't have simple overlays or OC / UV. AMDs panel has a bit too many menus for me but I prefer the way it operates overall. If all the functionality is there but it's easier to navigate and runs faster, that's a win in my books.
