Took delivery of my Miata finally, absolutely love the color. Gave it a good wash and wax too - really didn't need to polish it as it has a ceramic coating.

I've made some decent progress on my Jeep lately.  Dad's metal shop has been super busy lately, so still waiting on the ladder we're building for the back to access the spare tire up there.  But the basket's done now, with toolboxes. 🙂

A few weeks ago I actually bumped into someone else with a lowered Alltrack while traveling on some back roads, and we pulled over in one of the towns we ran through to chat and get a few pictures. First lowered Alltrack other than our own that either of us had ever seen in person. Really cool occurrence.

Nice ride! Do you take it offroad sometimes or is it just for the looks? (both good reasons, as I like the looks 🙂)

It's a 4x2, so not a lot off road. But I do take it off pavement for sure every chance I get. Climbed a small hill actually on the 4th to watch fireworks. Discount tire even said, "wow, that's the biggest tire we've ever put on one of those".... 🤣

I just figured it's a patriot, so it needed to look the part. Did the same with my Honda, made it look more like a Honda. Ive got lots to do still. Ladder, rock sliders, bumpers, cb antenna, tools.....  It's getting there though. Hard to find time at the metal shop.

Yeah, BMW use ZF gearboxes.

Fun fact: If you have an Aston Martin DB11 and the gearbox breaks, don't buy one from Aston Martin, save a bunch of money and get one from Chrysler, specifically for the 300C SRT8. Literally the same gearbox.

...fun fact #2: Aston Martin and Mercedes have several 'connections', while the Chrysler 300 still has some older-model Mercedes E class genes.

I want to take my car to the Nordschleife eventually, I just worked out how much it's going to cost in fuel (just too and from there, excluding laps) and it's going to be about £500. Anyone want to sponsor me? I have terminal lumbago.

My little race car is now smoke free for the first time since I've owned it... Took a chance on an unknown MX-3 engine last weekend and got lucky,  and after breaking some ridiculously hard to find components trying to get a fitting disassembled,  It now has correctly functioning a/c.
