Apple today opened pre-orders for the 6.1-inch models of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro through its website and the Apple Store app, and estimated delivery times are already slipping into November for select configurations in the United States.

Customers ordering a SIM-free/Pacific Blue/128GB version of the iPhone 12 Pro, for example, are already facing an estimated delivery window of November 6-13. Some configurations of the iPhone 12 Pro remain available for launch day delivery on October 23, but inventory is quickly dwindling, so customers should order as soon as possible.

I ordered mine 10 minutes after the pre-order thing opened and I'm going to get it in November. I don't have an exact date for when I'm going to get mine, but that's just how quickly these things are selling.

Any other company that released a phone that was so similar to it's last gen counterpart would never get this kind of attention but with apple you can always count on people to be caught up in the brand more than anything else.

Not really, it happens to other flagship phones as well. A vast majority of people getting the 12 aren't coming from the 11. Same happens with Android flagship phones.

I suppose that does depend on the situation they were in with their 11s. I'm only going from an 11 to a 12 Pro because it works out as cheaper per month when I upgrade through my network. I get a new phone with significantly better cameras, styling I like, double the storage and I pay less per month than I am now. Makes perfect sense.

Otherwise, yeah I agree that would not be a smart thing to do. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the 11. Those are still going to be good for another 4-5 years.

The magic of the Apple brand. To many, it's a status symbol.

If you think about how many people have iphones though, and not 11 pros it doesn't surprise me.  Its easy to think there are 10s of millions of poeple ready to pull the trigger on these phones that are at least 2 gens behind. My wife would still be on an 8 if she didn't break the screen.
