Actually the EK was my original order and choice, however they were not due until April, so due to my impatience I also ordered the Alphacool. Ironically a couple of days after the Alphacool arrived, I got a dispatch notice for the EK. So I went with EK for this. The Alphacool is fixed and ready to find a new home !

4x rads mounted with a total of 24x Arctic P series pwm in push/pull...will be using 4x fan hubs for the actual spinnerama

I see people bitching about flaking on the EK blocks, but mine never flakes while I'm staring at it so I cannot verify if it is a true claim

When running 3DMark Timespy stress test I, the max the GPU hit was between 45-50C which is great, was a little warmer than that before when running the included AIO cooler haha.

...same here. On the other hand, I never had any issues with EK Nickel flaking. Also, EK is quite specific about what cleaners and fluids not to use. Finally, a 3090 owner with a new Bykski block showed some Nickel flaking after only a short use time...actually had the shape of a finger tip imprint. In short, it's all a bit of a crap-shoot 

  

EDIT: ...push/pull fans for the little desk build are mounted and ready to go (well, the rest of the PC is not mounted yet,but soon...)

Both of my EK blocks from 2015 did. Sample size of one, but doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. That said, some are lucky, some aren't I guess.

 

During the life of those blocks I ran distilled + liquid utopia (came with the tubing), distilled + biocide/inhibitor, and Mayhems X1 clear.

That sounds good! My 3090 in the 7XL is creeping towards the 70°C on air with the case closed vs 65°C in the Meshify S2 case, my current 7XL setup is not good for an aircooled GPU. Everything is ready for a waterblock on the 3090, but I'm still waiting on the release of a Heatkiller ftw3 block

Ouch, I felt that just hearing this description. I sliced off a corner of my thumb, nail, nail bed in a mandolin slicer Christmas Day 2019 so this is what I am imagining now.

...wasn't as bade as what you describe, perhaps also because fortunately, the 3k GT fan was on pull rather than push ? Also, managed to cut myself three times yesterday with new carpet knife blades  I'm normally not that clumsy, but there are days when I should have stayed in bed ...

Just curious how many fans you connect via the PST. I'm doing 3 per header, but I wonder how many would be safe since these have pretty low power draw.

Freezing in the office this morning. Left the windows open last night. Mind you, both cards are Mining. 

 

Loop, CPU, Voltage, Core spd, GPU1, GPU2.

It's alive ! It's alive...after various delays, finally got to bleed the whole loop thing and try out the 3090 Strix OC (and for that matter the 3950X) on w-cooling for the first time...took long enough coz of some injuries, but now      ...temps are fantastic

Any advice for good thermal pads on an Asus Strix 2080ti?

Those Thermalright pads are good and I think you can find them on Aliexpress. Fujipoly or even the Arctic branded pads are good.

Thermalright are very good...make sure you know the right size, though. 0.5mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5mm etc. I got my Thermalright Odyssey pads from Amazon

Thanks guys, I ordered a bunch of those and some different pads. I have a few cards that I need to repaste/repad anyways. 
The thickness was in the manual for the strix block, 0.5 and 1.0mm.

The block was cleaned 6 months ago, but it went in a system with red fluid and has been online 24/7 since that day. I should have flushed that system like I did in the main system and use distilled water with biocides etc. Instead I was lazy and refilled it with the red dp ultra and the whole loop is red again. 
The block is clean now, and so is the CPU block and the radiator. Waiting on the pads so I can install the block on the GPU, the loop is almost ready.
