Water Cooling Club

Ripped apart my Core X9 12900KS pc today to delid CPU and remove all water cooling and build back up my dual loops (1 CPU and 1 GPU Loop)  as I added SYMETRY! both loops now feature dual D5 with EK dual D5 housings, and matching 250mm res's with custom mount on front rad.  I think it turned out pretty fantastic.  Obviously its a wiring mess right now but just a few quick pics doesnt hurt anything.  Also, I delided the 12900KS, have no idea if it survived but i can only hope..  The delid process went pretty easy I think, just have to figure out what people use to remove the damn black silicone on the substrate as its a * to get off! Anyways, as I wait a few more weeks for the Supercool direct die block and my eVGA FTW3 3090Ti waterblock... ill post pics when all complete.

I can't believe that it has been over a year since I finished the Ravens' Nest systems. Raven_A (dual X570, 3090 Strix and 6900XT, modded TT Core P8 ) got some basic maintenance, apart from recently receiving dual Seasonic Prime Platinum PX1300 PSUs for Raven_A. Liquids for both loops are still absolutely pristine.

Raven_B (2950x Threadripper, 2x 2080 Tis, TT Core P5) got a new Phanteks CPU TR block as the Heatkiller had some nickel peeled off on the inside on the jet plate 😡 ...I also reworked the cooling system, replacing the 4x D5 and 5x 360/60 rad dual loop system with a single loop, downsized to 3x 360/60 rads and 3x D5s. Temperature differential is negligible (may be 1.5 C under load). I also added a WD SN750 NVMe.

...a quick 'FYI' tip for mounting external D5 pumps to control noise and vibration. D5s are generally among the quietest pumps out there to begin with, but when mounted on bare metal such as a wall of a typical PC case, it can become a bit of a harmonic frequency 'buzz' issue. Many CPU and GPU boxes along with CPU and GPU w-cooling block boxes come with both soft foam and harder rubber as packaging material which is great to mount between the foot of the D5 holder and the metal case - see arrow below in the first pic during a layout / test mount. Some free-standing D5s even have a custom-cut rubber piece included to act as a noise and vibration damper. Either way, even running 5x D5 can be made to be perfectly quiet and full speed, unless the pump itself has a bearing issue, or trapped air.
