Oh yeah, I meant to reply to that. I did try that out, it does push my CPU close to the max temp so I don't really want to do that. I'm fine with my GPU temps, those only get up to 65c with the fans at 30%.

I hear you. I was offering the only solution to your problem of not getting enough wus for the tourney next to getting another gpu.

you could do what I do... and under power your cpu, well... I think you could... I'm pretty sure you could limit power to some arbitrary amount that will keep temps down... my temps were fine, even with power limits pretty much set to what the VRM's could handle, but I didn't like pushing the cpu that hard for days... I set mine to 65w and still net around 250k a day out of it....

Well, done for the night. I know 3 of the 5 work, and I needed a longer 16x extention that I had to order, so 2x1x in the meantime. Anyway. Trying to get this figured before the tourney or else bastiaan will blow me out of the water.

Well, i'm screwed, somehow managed to break off the CMOS battery holder on the Zenith Extreme. I'm so effed. I ordered a replacement and will try to solder it, but damnit!

Oh bummer man, how did you manage that ? Usually something so low profile is hard to bust. Sucks though, good luck with the replacement.

Oh and welcome to the new guys pitching up !

Time to burn the dust off my 980ti's. Hopefully both of them can manage 12+ WU's a day. Havent folded in a while, Trying to preserve the cards. Kingpin models arent known for their reliability sadly. If nothing else i at least have a winter heater sitting next to me for a week lol.

Was going to clear cmos, had a tiny flathead in there and lost my balance (it was 1 am) put too much pressure on it and one side snapped off. Looked like one side was still attached and some of the prong of the snapped lead was still there. Might regret super gluing it, but if I have to solder, I'd rather try this first.

Ahh bugger man, that sucks. Late night tinkering has bitten me a few times, these days I have learned to just put the tools down and start again in the morning...easier said than done though when you have "The Bug"

I've already got my wife's htpc rig started.. it'll take about 10 hrs for it to kick out it's first couple units... using it on both CPU and GPU part of the 3200G... figure that will give at least a couple work units a day there... I'll be starting my main rig up on CPU and GPU about 5pm local time (an hour before zulu midnight)... mostly because usually the first two work units I get are short running units it seems...

@Avacado good luck friend, hoping your fix is quick and works for you.

well... mine should go up to over a million ppd average during the contest time ?  I don't have a dedicated folding machine, but at times when heats needed or there's a contest going on I turn the minotaur loose and let it fold full force... so, yeah, I use my PC for space heater...?

Won't look much changed from how it does right now. Though in 3 days time when the 24 avg's catch up, I'll wager it'll look something like

Bastiaan

Avacado

CptAsian

Just a guess though :)

...what I like to see is @Avacado and @Bastiaan_NL arm up with either one (or both) of these, load in the 8-channel TR Pro 3995wx and stuff those PCIe slots to the brim...
