I started my first overclocking adventures in 2001, especially when I got my first T-bird! I got very hooked! Emulation resulted in me getting hooked! Especially July 1, 2003, when I got my first Thoroughbred processor, despite I got it with a motherboard that wasn't made for CPU overclocking, but at least got a PSU that worked better for the time being, until October, 2003, when I got my first upscale PSU, the Antec True 430, which I never saw visibly bad caps, ironically. Got lucky with my 2003 True 430 1.0, because it looked like most made after mine had bad caps!

Mine at least lasted through the whole time I was using socket 462, which was until 2008, when in September, got my first Core 2 system, which was a "poor-man's Core 2 Duo". (Pentium E2180, which was a poo sample, even 3.0 made it degrade!)

So by late-August, 2009, I was given an Acer with a Core 2 Duo E4500 and I later on popped the E4500 into the Asus P5QL Pro that I got in September, 2008 and it looked like a golden sample! (low VID of 1.2 V!)

Welcome to the forums. The Core2duo's were fantastic CPUs.
