  1. It's all good, I already had my plans for this week and that included a lot of Call of Duty I'm just trying to keep up, but even overnight my systems don't gain on you. It would have been cool to hit a 100 mil in 5 days, but the 35 remaining won't be easy in 1.5 days. @Supercrumpet is in the lead with the work units (more than 50 units), you and @tictoc are both in second and I'm in third. The laptop is doing a great job but I should have had it running from day one to be in second place.
  2. I would leave those memory clocks alone for folding, there is no gain afaik. If you want to test it out I suggest you do it on one unit, fold like 10%, pause the unit and change the clock. After that fold another 10% and look at the Time Per Frame it takes, if you see no decrease in time it's not beneficial and will only increase the chance of a faulty unit. 500 watt shouldn't be a problem, the 780 is rated at something like 250 watt and the 9100f has a 65 watt TDP. @Avacado are you messing with me? 3.2 million on the last update, that's no joke... The main 3090 was waiting for work when I woke up an hour ago, and the other was again working on a 17800 pos (project of science ). So I'm not gaining anything on you, even with my laptop folding at 150k ppd
  3. From 24 mil all the way down to 17 mil because of a wave of 17800 units... I hope we'll get better units soon, this ain't fun
  4. I am on beta again, cause without the flag I get those weird units that give me 4 mil ppd. The 2080's are on advanced for now, works fine that way. That is not right. I have a few bugs like that reported in HFM.net too, best unit was giving 30mil ppd. I had the same thing on the 2080ti and almost every other card, just a single unit that is not working like it should. The same goes for the worst ppd, I've never seen them below 3.8 mil or something, and that's only the 17800 unit. On the 1080ti that unit gives the normal 2.5 mil ppd, but for some reason the 3090 does not like it. In December I received 8 14911 units, with 17 seconds TPF and worth 280k. That was a little over 14 million points per day. I also received 30 14911 units worth 180k with 17 seconds TPF for 9 mil ppd, that might have something to do with changing the basepoints. There are a few more units that did really good, more than 10 mil ppd. That is the bonus of running beta, sometimes you get lucky and have a few points extra from new units.
  5. 2.89 mil To be honest, besides a few hours of gaming I was really trying. Picked up a few units for 4 mil ppd on a 3090, that's what you get for removing the beta flag and the 1080ti was acting weird. You are still in the lead, and I'll be playing CoD all evening (next 4 hours or so). After that I'll be back at 24ish mil ppd
  6. So now I have to clean my keyboard and monitor, thanks for that [edit] added to my sig Powerlevels, coreclock and enough CPU cores make a lot of difference. I see around 10% increase in TPF if the CPU is busy (not 100% usage). Increasing the powerlevel comes with extra heat and costs, that's up to you. [edit] 92 million yesterday!
  7. I love how active this thread is, hard to keep up I agree with everything that has been said. I would start with the newest hardware first and work your way back. So getting the 3090 and 2080's online will be your first concern. The 3950x is a nice unit cruncher, as long as you receive the smaller ones that take half an hour. Almost 50 units a day is pretty nice, with them being around 10k points each results in half a million points from the CPU alone. If you know how I would suggest Linux, that'll be another 10% extra points. Don't underestimate your own need to be number one, soon you'll find a 30xx card just to mess with me.. 80 million points on day one, that's more than OCN was doing for 6 months last year. Now if we could average 80 mil, that would be sweet!
  8. Nice one! I totally forgot to keep an eye on your stats, you are closing in on me
  9. I'm sorry, in the heat of the moment you say things you might regret. No regrets though
  10. You say I'm a bad parent, but my cards are all working... Can't say that about your setup! But enough thrash talking for now, let's see who's the first to cross the 40mil mark You could do that, but make sure to use watercooling on the RGB controller ? Take care and enjoy your day
  11. That's not bad, I didn't notice the fans at first glance. I added a CoolerMaster 20cm fan as exhaust to the side of a system that had some trouble keeping the temps reasonable, it dropped 14°C on the top card. The bottom card is pulling around 450watt, so no wonder the top card gets hot with that much heat at it's intake side. Now don't say I don't love them and neglect them, they are actually standing in my direct view! I just gave them some time to rest after all the hard work they've done. If I can find some used hardware close I'll try to get the 5700xt online. And I know what you would do with the 5700xt, it's really efficient for something we are not going to mention here Thanks for the offer though. It would have been way more convenient if I would have lived in the states, but that's just how it is. Make sure the frequency is the same as your bclk, you don't want them to interfere! [edit] @Avacado won the race to 30 million... Congrats, next one is mine!
  12. Not really Make sure to set it at blue, that'll help with cooling all the hardware. But on a serious note, every piece of hardware matters! It might sound like a luxury problem (it actually is lol), but I have too many GPU's for the systems I have. That's a bit more than one 3090 can do, they are at 6.4 mil now with the 13440 units so that would be 800k per update. Now there is still a system with a 1080ti in it, which is not mine but if I ask it nicely it'll run if it's not in use. And on the shelf are a 5700xt and a 1650 super. Those 2 combined should be good for at least 2 million points, but I ran out of motherboards and CPU's I always like to see what everyone is running, how are the temps without any fans moving the hot air away?
  13. Thanks for joining us Nah I'm fine, I have some spare hardware that'll go online as soon as I'm scared. I enjoy some good competition, so for now I'll leave it like this
  14. That one does show up on the F@H stats page https://stats.foldingathome.org/donor/467906540
  15. 4 GPU's running for now, I'm trying to keep them online. I have had an error that causes the clients to stop 2 times in 2 weeks on the second system, looks like something produces a corrupt file after running for too long. After a reboot it works fine, but that's not a solution. It works for now, and I just reboot the system once a day to hopefully keep it online without any errors. If the competition is over I'll individually test each component, to find what's causing those errors.
  16. That is a massive unit, I would have no problem filling that with hardware and watercooling! My second system is growing out of it's case I have the acetal version, really love the HK blocks! Good luck with it! I wish I had some motivation to dive into overclocking mine, for now I'm happy with how it runs stock Undervolting would be a good thing though, that'll surely get the temps down a bit.. Seeing all that hardware makes me want to build another system...
  17. We'll see what the temps do and how much I want to play CoD I could switch the 3090 from the main for a 2080s just for CoD, but I'm afraid the PSU on the second system will start smoking.. I hope there will be a lot of new guys joining us, let's see! How I would love to set up something like that, but money and heat would be an issue in my house. Once the outside temps go up a bit I have trouble staying alive Ambient was at 21°C with the thermostat set at 16°C (no ac), so things are heating up already with 3 systems online.
  18. Or even a laptop, mine completes 14 units a day with a GTX580m. 1 minute TPF on 13439 units, 150k ppd. Not sure if the "max-packet-size = small" flag really works, but with 10k points per unit you would think it's a small unit.
  19. Sure, I will do that if you pay my power bill from last year
  20. Temps are all over the place for me. Under a constant max load I see way lower temps than the random spikes, not sure what causes that but what ever.. 49°C over ambient is not that bad, I had a few degrees lower temps with a TT 360 aio with pushpull. So that sounds about right
  21. Nice! That's a nice upgrade! And I bet you'll try to get all the performance out of that chip. That's some cool stuff, have fun with it! And don't forget to take some pictures when you are done building it.
