  1. Right, but how do I do that.
  2. True. 299 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08166SLDF/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
  3. Roughly, yes. https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-5600X-12-Thread-Processor/dp/B08166SLDF/ref=asc_df_B08166SLDF/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=475750632217&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16050650036932280644&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010331&hvtargid=pla-1038719530487&psc=1
  4. Can someone walk me through the process of folding on a specific number of cores, I.E. leaving a certain amount free for GPU usage?
  5. I own 2 of the G700s, best mouse I have ever owned in terms of form fitting my hand.
  6. Think i'm going to fight that elderly person. I can't figure out why the system is locking up. Going to have to do a wipe and try again.
  7. Own some xspc rads too. But Acool rads are among the least restrictive you can buy. Not the highest fin density, but definitely low restriction. GTS (HWLs) rads iirc for low RPM would be a good choice. Take a look at the UT60s. IF, you can find them. Seems like every single component is drying up these days.
  8. Sell that 8GB 480 before the mining bubble collapses. You will get 300-400$ for that card right now easy.
  9. Alright, so here it is. the Srtix-e DID need a BIOS update and I have done that. It does seem to be more responsive after. I have done a fresh FAH install and the below is after 10 minutes. Temps good, CPU locked in at 3800. I swear to god if this thing locks up, i'm going to fight an elderly person.
  10. Yes. No OC at all, actually a manual underclock or manual base clock. FCLK is locked at 100MHz. I am really hoping it is just the RAM causing instability, as I have now spent 800$ on RAM in the past 2 months. Pretty sure I have the latest BIOS, but will double check.

    The ugly side

Here's my current "Ugly side". Both sides of this s8s are windowed. Cable management is sub-par. Meh. Folding Rig's U side.
  12. Alright, so need the help of some Ryzen/Threadripper experts here. The open air Tesla rigs had been folding beautifully until 2 days ago. They just lock up, leaving the image on screen, but being unresponsive, no BSOD (I don't think it's the cards). I have set 3500MHz on both TR's and am running RAM well below rated specs, so temps aren't the issue. I don't think it is power, because the 5 cards only draw about 200w each and I have more than enough PSU/ Wall amperage capacity. Anyone have any inclining? Besides doing a fresh windows install and new FAH client to alleviate possible corrupt drivers/software, I can't figure out where to start here. - Will do clean installs. If does not work will, - Drop both down to 4 cards each. If does not work will, - Rip my effing hair out. At this point, could be the risers. The bifurcation card did NOT work on the ROG-e. I can't wrap my head around it working during the FaT flawlessly, to locking up with no settings modifications. Any thoughts? Anyone have solid AIR settings for Threadrippers I can use? I really think it is CPU/BIOS settings or PCI-e lane allocation. I did pick up a Gigabyte Designaire which i'll try I suppose (It has 5x 16x Slots). The more I play with these boards, the more I regret not going the X99 route with a 2xxx Intel chip. *Edit I have ordered new RAM, which is verified on the QVL list here: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socketTR4/ROG_STRIX_X399-E_GAMING/ROG_Strix_X399-E_memory_QVL_For2ndGenRyzenThreadripperCPU.pdf Gskill. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232482?Item=N82E16820232482 I am thinking the RAM I originally bought does not work with my TR's. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232327?Item=N82E16820232327 Sucks because that was 400$ and I can't return them.

    The ugly side

Kills me to see an awesome 3-way SLI and then notice an AIO. Sigh, any reason you did not go all the way?
  14. Phew! Very happy to have watched your project and help with it. Must feel very proud to have your kids assist too. Great work!
  15. PLEASE TELL ME YOU CLEANED THE RAD COMPLETELY!!! If you did not flush it well, I promise you will have black flux and other materials wedged in your GPU/CPU block! You should take out that return tube in your res. It's feeding bubbles really close to the pump inlet and recirculating them.
  16. Welcome Lush, I mean Lutz. ?
  17. Excited, we want pics!
  18. LAWD. You going to pressure test WITH coolant in? ? You have worked so hard to not air test BEFORE adding coolant. I use the one linked below. and instead of masturbating the mini pump, I attach a bike tire pump and she is pressurized in 2 pumps. https://www.titanrig.com/ekwb-ek-leak-tester-0550ek010201on.html
  19. Plugs into any g1/4 thread in your loop. I always rad mount them. Would plug into one of the 4 2 pin tsensor plugs on your shinny new OCTO.
  20. Out of stock everywhere of course. But this is my go to. Not expensive. https://modmymods.com/alphacool-eiszapfen-temperature-sensor-plug-g1-4-deep-black-17365.html https://www.performance-pcs.com/water-cooling/accessories-misc/alphacool-eiszapfen-temperature-sensor-plug-g1-4-deep-black-ac-17365.html Chrome version is available on amazon for a bit more. https://www.amazon.com/Alphacool-Eiszapfen-Temperature-Sensor-Chrome/dp/B01HQ8LJV2 You would be doing the OCTO a disservice by not have a loop temp sensor. Aqua computer flow sensors are the bee's knees too. https://www.performance-pcs.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?brand=232&q=flow+sensor
  21. Looks good. Three Thoughts. Looks like you have a g1/4 temp probe mounted in the top of your res, that is not a good place for accurate loop temp readings as there is a high chance of it not being completely submerged in your coolant. I can't remember if there were 3 ports on the 1080, but if there were that would be a good place, otherwise maybe a T junction would suffice somewhere in the loop. I am not familiar with the X470 board, but most boards can turn off 2 SATA ports to give increased bandwidth on that 4x slot you mentioned that turns off when populated with an M.2 drive. I would read the manual to see if that is an option. Rubber dampeners would help your concerns over pump vibration. All builds are easy in theory and almost always in my builds, they go from "This should take a day" to "Holy * iv'e been working on this build for a week.
  22. ? That must have cost a pretty penny.
