  1. All good questions. It goes without saying that we are experiencing advancements at an alarming rate. I use alarming as while technological advancements on the surface are excellent, we are experiencing them at an ever quicker pace which begs the question, are we going to fast without really realising the negative effects? Are we doing things now my just because we can, while blindly heading into an abyss. Only history can be the judge of that. The word in 20 years technology wise will be leaps ahead of what we have now and whilst we can speculate where we will be and what we will have, its still hard to imagine living it. Time will tell. Ironically Microsoft took back the title of most valuable company.
  2. Absolutely nuts how in the past two years they have just carried on climbing that ladder. However they correctly capitalized on AI and diversifying their product range so they deserve the success. Even if it sucks they have no competition and for us standard consumers means we will still be paying over the odds for GPU's
  3. Hello all, This is a friendly reminder that my door is always open with respect to any concerns or grievances any of you may have this can include: - The site, features, possible bugs & anything else technical related. - Members - Maybe a member shouldn't be doing something, or they are causing some unnecessary friction. - Actions taken by moderators (on the forums or Discord). - Management - Perhaps management including myself has caused a concern. The above is not an exhaustive list, but you get the idea. Ultimately, if you do not report a problem, I cannot help. So please speak up While I cannot always promise to resolve a situation, I will do my best to find a way forward. The best way to get my attention will be via direct PM. While I do my best to catch @mentions whether on the forums or Discord it is possible I will miss them and have very much done so in the past. Thanks, E
  4. Exactly that, this is why Recall needs to be secure. Imagine how damaging that could be if malware could obtain all or even part of your recall history. So many people save in plain text logins on their desktops or other areas. I can see it being a potentially huge problem.
  5. Ultimately I think it will come back, but hopefully with some additional security parameters to restrict compromise. While it said that recall is stored locally only on a users PC, and for now we have to go with that tagline until proven otherwise, I would still like to see Recall being harder to access from the local PC, whether it be password/Biometric protected using something other than your Windows login. I do not like the fact that if someone knows your Windows password/ you have left you PC unlocked that someone could potentially swoop in and navigate your PC history. Not cool. Not only this but unless I have missed it, I would expect that the recall feature be fully encrypted. Of course I mean completely outside that of something like bitlocker/similar. Recall itself should have its own independent solution regardless of any OS level encryption. Would I find Recall useful, possibly on the odd occasion as a supplementary tool, but my first port of call would be my own personal backup scheme I already have running. I would rather use my storage space on my PC for Work/Games and general storage, not to fill it up with Recall backups. I have a NAS for that lol.
  6. Yeah.....the AQC**** parts are an issue. I was stung by that this gen. The drivers were causing such high latency that audio was skipping etc. ironically I ended up getting a trusty Intel X540 card and all is well. Mobo vendors really need to use Intel and not AQC or Realtek, one can dream.
  7. 10Gb is becoming more and more relevant, especially as it is now considered affordable for your average consumer. For me, I run a NAS device, and I at times do large file transfers and having 10Gb makes life more efficient and means less time my PC has to be left on just for a transfer. Hell, even with smaller files, its just nice to have quick transfers. Not to mention it allows for more concurrent transfers with less of a penalty. I do not have USB4 on my current mobo but in the future it would be nice to have. Of course we have only discussed external I/O and nothing of people who want to take advantage of Gen5 drives which right now at least you can only get on high end chipsets. To be fair, anyone wanting to take advantage of the latest faster storage technology will always be forced to the higher end chipsets as thats how vendors stack their product lines.
  8. Putting Overclocking/tweaking completely aside for one moment. Lots of gamers use their systems for more than just gaming and for that reason may focus on a boards feature sets moreover than what it's capable of in an OC scenario. For example, if you want a board with decent I/O such as 10Gb networking and USB4, straight off you are throwing money at a motherboard as those feature sets demand a higher bracket of pricing. Unfortunately the "Creator" like motherboards that focus moreso on just I/O are fairly rare and to get a board with substantial I/O usually means you end up getting a motherboard with semi decent OC capabilities at any rate. Once you hit a certain price bracket, you just end up with an overall "Premium" feature set. So all in all some users are almost forced into the premium range, irrespective of Overclocking. Forced sounds harsh but I find that is the best way to describe it. Sure if you are using a PC for just gaming and light computing you can 100% avoid paying out extra and end up with a more budget friendly build using a mobo with a basic feature set.
  9. Ha, will be interesting to see if that works out.
  10. @neurotix @iamjanco. I like the input from both of you which has lead to the above design, I rather like this and on my next round of store changes I would like to use this. Am I able to have the raw file for this .PSD/Ai ?
  11. My personal belief is financially and structurally, they can weather these recent events and will stick around, but the trust and reputation took the biggest hit.
  12. Deco95 is a good shout. I am not sure actually regarding WPA3. I am willing to bet not ALL are. The Deco95 is looks harder to obtain. Looks like it is available in the US however.
  13. Yeah there is supposed to be a Deco65 Pro launching at some point . Still deciding on which route to go, I have pinged between a few different models as mentioned in this thread. After further research the Deco65's throughput is frankly not that great and the Deco XE200 is far superior, but lacks Wifi 7, even though that is not a deal breaker. At the moment I am leaning to getting a single Deco85 as it ticks all the boxes, and perhaps getting a second later. Right now I cannot spring for a set of 2 as it is a little on the expensive side, hell even one is stretching it.
