1. These days off are not being kind to me lol, starting to lose time..or gain time..who knows. Anyway good spot ! Will alter lol.
2. One would call this overkill....or one could say its EXTREME HARDWARE ! lol sorry I saw the opportunity for a shameless plug related to your content haha.
3. Hello all, We have changed the dates for this event to avoid conflict with other folding competitions going on. The new dates are April 3rd - 5th 2020 Thanks, E
4. Likely the paranoid aspect, but I never trusted free VPN's. Sure paying for things also does not ensure a trustworthy service, I just don't know. Again, silly paranoia. However if you are using it simply for bypassing geo blocks then that is fine.
5. Welcome @harmon Glad to have you. Nice choice on RAM, have to love the Gskill Trident Z !
6. Sweet. Will likely just stick with the single pump, the D5 is reliable and I have a second screen on my PC case for monitoring stats, so I think I will notice if the pump gives out as I have a flow meter etc
7. Nice, sounds like you certainly have your ducks in a row regarding VPN. I had heard of 2 & 3 but not PulseSecure, sounds fairly handy as it can work with MS 2FA and AzureAD, will have to keep that one in mind ! I hear of PIA all the time, but having been happy with TorGuard I have not shopped around since, will need to start looking into some others for when my renewal comes up.
8. My good man, why are you fasting ? Banned for having a good water intake !
9. Looking at the package at 100% load its pulling 232W
10. Uh oh...but I do not like hospitals...but it may be acceptable if SeriousDon is there to provide some comedy ! Ban for recommending I go to a hospital in the current climate !
11. Nice ! Thanks for doing the test for me. Sounds like a single pump will suffice then. I run my pump at 75% at this point as well. Your setup looks like what my future one will, including the ID of the tubing. So I will expect to see similar results (assuming similar ambient). The only difference is while my front rad is 45mm thick like yours, I will likely go with a slimmer top rad due to space. I will have to have a measure again as I MAY be able to fit a thicker rad to the top of the case or I may just have to stick to a 29mm. As I say, the additional rad is only there to help offset the inclusion of a single GPU (Possibly 3080Ti) to the loop. Thanks again !
12. Yeah I can agree with what AMD did with respect to making the support lines clear. Having a 400 series half in and half out when it comes to supporting certain processors would just be an absolute nightmare. It would have been easier to just say no and make it clear that it is only the new chipset that would support the new CPU's moving forward. The only way to bring the 3000 CPU line to the 400 Chipset would to have released new BIOS files which had dropped support for older CPU's, hence reducing the BIOS file size. This would have made sense to me as you could give consumers the choice to update to the latest BIOS to support the latest CPU's and drop support for other older CPU's you would likely never use anyway. I guess the hurdle was, where do you draw the line ? and how many companies (MSI,ASrock etc) would be happy to play along and create a new BIOS for all there 400 series boards. In essence I would imagine AMD looked into this and found a degree of resistance from the board manufacturers. So I am willing to bet this decision was partially made for AMD and AMD is taking the flack for it.
13. Scary really, as the article says, heat is one thing and humidity another but when you combine them...not much fun. I cannot stand overly humid weather, feels like your breathing in something thicker than air that is for sure. Unsure if this could be reversed however by reduction of human factors. While we have most certainly pushed things along, I do think that the planet is also going through natural changes and I think we could see us needing to alter environments by the way of technology to make certain areas tolerable. Sounds futuristic but maybe weather control (or some variant of that) is part of the future.
14. Is it bad when I saw that and it looked kind of dodgy, like a man behind some sheep ! Banning myself for having a broken mind.
15. You should do what I did for ages before the 2080Ti released when I sold my 1080Ti's....Rock some old school Quadro I had under my bed.
16. Well that was good of MSI to honor the RMA even though technically it was an installation issue and not a product issue, Kudos to them. I have never needed to RMA to MSI, but good to hear they are decent (Assuming who you speak to as always lol) Good advice on the loop and yes I guess it is over engineered, but if you have the parts already to hand I guess why not. I have a D5/Heatkiller Res combo unit. The D5 pump is awesome, no complaints just yet. At the moment with my loop which cools the CPU and the motherboard (I have the Asrock X570 Aqua) I have a flow rate of about 170-180 LPH. Which I know to be ok, plus my temps are fine so I am not hugely concerned. It was just with the inclusion of an additional small rad and GPU whether or not it warranted an additional pump to help with flow throughput. Still undecided right now to be honest.
17. Sell it soon to make the best return on it that you can, Ebay FTW.
18. I hear you. Solidworks really suffers if you are working over a network and pulling files over it from a central server with lots of users (especially VPN). That is why lots end up with PDM but the company I work for is not big enough to warrant PDM so we still pull files from the work server, however in all honesty it seldom causes an issue as we are a 3 man team, so all is good.
19. Nice build. I had the MSI Meg Creation when I had my 2990WX Build. It was the best mobo for that generation hands down. I like the face you have used some of the cover elements of the mobo on your case as decorative pieces, very imaginative. I was actually looking to put my next GPU under WC, likely will get another RAD for it. Currently only have my CPU in a loop. Assuming that I will have one GPU and CPU in the same loop, I would imagine I can keep the loop to a single pump only ? I ask as I note you have a few pumps in your build.
20. Hello all, So it is evident these days that the use of VPN's over the years has increased exponentially and for good reason. With lots of online entities wanting a piece of you, or by you, I should say your usage data (and sometimes worse), it is certainly reasonable and understandable why people want to obfuscate their activities to retain their privacy. I myself frequently use a VPN for general browsing as well as for work reasons to ensure that my traffic is protected. So our questions is, Do you use a VPN, If so who ? and why did you choose that vendor. If you don't have a VPN do you ever plan on getting one ? I myself use TorGuard, I have used them for years now and the first reason was for starters their prices were reasonable but also the fact of the cross compatibility of their services across many different device types including routers etc. Luckily their support is also great ! Let us know ! E
21. Makes sense though as I would imagine they are wanting to push the PCIe 4.0, last time I looked the 470 boards cannot do that ?

23. I guess I am the asshole haha. It is cool, I was keen to get it quickly as I wanted to make sure all the kit for the CFP is in working order so that I have a leg to stand on when it comes to sending any of it back should anything be faulty and all that fun stuff lol.
24. I think a lot of decisions will come down to if Nvidia makes the 3080Ti a more reasonably priced top end card as opposed to what the 2080Ti was. RTX is no longer groundbreaking tech, so one would hope Nvidia will bring the cost down, that and they 100% know they have some competition from AMD this round so I am thinking they may also price competitively, here is hoping. I would imagine at the very least it will still bee an £800-900 GPU. Btw, is your dream car the one you have in your avvy ?
