So it looks like Enermax is really struggling with this gunk build up issue in their blocks. I had one of the first versions and luckily did not have this issue (so far as I know) for as long as I had it.

Yeah,I think the 8k will be for future proofing for streaming to make it a reliable Home theater system also. Not like there's a LOT of demand even for the 4k content even now except some of the new original series like from amazon ect., or some games.Even then most people will probably go for a lower resolution because they're hooked to their 60" tv and it can't handle gaming in 4k. (unless they spend a fortune on a new tv when they get the new system...):eat_popcom: will be interesting. I am of the opinion that 4K will only be mass adopted as ''the norm'' after the PS5 is EOL. Mass adoption takes a while, granted 4K is touted everywhere you turn but if you look at the percentage of people digesting media via 4K, it is still small in comparison to say 1080P+. Unless you are more of an enthusiast when it comes to AV kit (or just a tech head like us lot) most people are rather content with their Full HD TV sets.

I think it was blown out of proportion as well, though of course any new transmission media does need to be vetted to ensure there is no health implications, though of course that is just to humans. One has to make the assumption it will be fine for other life. I have often wondered though how these signals affect birds...if at all. Just a musing lol.

Well its no doubt that this gen the PlayStation is going to be a formidable machine. I think this gen the consoles have really taken a much larger leap forward. However I would imagine 8K is playback only, Gameplay is not going to be at an acceptable frame rate IMHO.

I honestly cannot see PS5 not having hardware accelerated Ray Tracing. I mean they are also using an AMD chip for their console and for the most part the next gen consoles from a hardware point of view are fairly similar. If and a big IF Sony decided not to opt for Ray Tracing then that is a big mistake as we all know that the bandwagon is headed toward that technology.

When the masses want something, they find a way to spend the money that is for sure. I think buying a folding phone is absolutely nuts considering that they absolutely have not figured out all the issues with the technology. Everyone adopting it this first gen are all basically beta testers.

Yeah you would hope that there is a level of validation before the apps get killed off, for some people this is also income so it has knock on effects

I must be misunderstanding the bench scores in the article as it looks like they are miles away from that ? don't forget, these are early ES samples and not a K series chip. So you can at least expect this specific chip 200MHz above what it is on this video and the K series chip quite a bit more than that. It might not even be boosting properly for all we know currently. That is a fair point, guess as always we will need to wait to see what comes to fruition with the retail chips.
