  1. A list would have been a better approach. Plus it would be better if apps are removed based off of user reports rather than machine based learning as depending on the machine learning, it could be too overzealous.
  2. Not long until this month is over guys ! Be sure to get in on the action.
  3. Interesting, I may have to look into this when my new Rig is built. You have a higher score that what my 2990WX and 2080Ti was able to achieve. I am wondering if SLI is enabled if it harms the benchmark. As standard if an application does not support SLI even though its enabled in Nvidia CP, it will simply ignore the second GPU and the score is unaffected...but maybe this bench is the exception ? Time will tell.
  4. When my new rig is up I will do a retest to see with SLI disabled and Enabled to see if it affects the score (Even though we know its not a multi gpu enabled benchmark)
  5. 30% is huge for a small timer, but I guess that's the trade-off if you want to be featured on such a popular platform. You just have to hope the number of sales made is worth it.
  6. I was looking at another article which suggests it wont be able to take on AMDs offerings even though it is aimed to do so. Certainly seems a little lackluster.
  7. Typical, busy this weekend lol. Will just get it when next on sale I guess
  8. I really must get round to playing that, best take advantage of the free weeks haha.
  9. Thanks for the feedback chaps. I bit the bullet and got a 3950X with the Asrock Aqua. I think its a worthwhile upgrade, not huge but being able to recoup money from the TR platform while the goings still good lol. As stated, the only thing I may miss is all those PCIE Lanes, but honestly my usage scenario does not require I have more than the average user. Zen 3 is around the corner but if I decide to go that routE I would be surprised if the X570 does not support it, lets hope its not a repeat of X399 lol I Will certainly be sure to get some pic action going on and do some benching.
  10. Well there is the argument of waiting on Zen 3. That being said the other reason for selling up the TR platform is to recoup as much value as possible. Hmmm deliberation:confused: Perhaps you are right about scratching an itch but may still make sense to sell up and recoup and downgrade...I say the term downgrade lightly though as its more of a sidegrade in a way.
  11. @mllrkllr88 Oddly nothing seems to alter the score so far as CPU/SMT Config. Confident it must be a resolution/GPU thing. Running an Ultrawide at 3440x1440, though SLI is enabled, it only uses one GPU as it is only designed for one GPU, may try disabling SLI to see if that makes a difference.
  12. So I disabled SMT, No change to score. Going to force 8 core only with no SMT to see if that makes a difference.
  13. Hey guys, So in short as per my Sig Rig "Workstation/Gamer", I have a Threadripper 2990WX paired with an MSI Meg Creation, a great CPU for sure, but not something I find I absolutely max out enough to warrant staying on the TR pathway. I was taking a look at the GEN 3 Ryzen CPU, namely the R9 3950X and the ASrock X570 Aqua (Yes it is an expensive Mobo for sure, but that integrated WC block looks hella nice lol). So there is an inherent disadvantage with the TR 2nd Gen as we know, with respect to the not so stellar memory controller configuration when operating over 16 cores and the the clock speed (I sit at 4.1 all core OC) not being all that high, I mean it is technically fine if you are always using all 32 Cores, but if you aren't then why not get a lesser core CPU at a higher clock rate. The PCIE-4.0 will be nice, though not something I think I will particularly take advantage of a while but nice nonetheless. The addition of 10Gb LAN is also nice and I can see myself going that route soon anyway, WIFI 6 is also another nice addition (though we all know LAN is king) So I am left pondering whether to ''Upgrade'' or not. It is a newer gen, higher clock rates (something I can OC higher as well). All it would be is a Mobo and CPU swap out, I do not even need to get another block for the CPU as I would plumb the WC lines directly into the Mobo. For me I think the R9 3950X is a good balance between cores and clock speeds at this point. Not 100% sure yet. What do you guys think ? Cheers, E
  14. but he just got here banned for banning bant coz you never wave at me like that. at least not on OCN You will only find love on EHW dude.
  15. I would imagine this comes down to departmental restructuring.
  16. I am sure they are still not mass testing these updates across multiple system environments before making these live. Further to that they should make these available (cannot remember if they do for singular updates) to the insider crowd for testing before major release...It makes me cry.
  17. Hang on a min...Are we not supposed to ban people here ? Ban for not banning !
  18. Source:https://mspoweruser.com/free-software-foundation-sends-hard-drive-to-microsoft-to-get-windows-7-source-code/ I love this, Microsoft really have made their money on Win7, get it open source for the people I say.
  19. A few things here. Firstly this bench is very inconstant in terms of run-to-run score. Run the bench 5 times and you will see a big variange. I saw a big gain from disabling SMT, so that's something you can try. I did not think of SMT, Just limited to 8 cores to reduce bottleneck with respect to memory access. Will disable SMT and re-bench 5 times to get an average. Cheers dude.
  20. Hmmm while VR is certainly growing, I have to say it is not big enough yet in order to make it a day one feature of the next gen consoles...in my humble opinion.
  21. FB has been hit and miss with their updates, at least on the Android platform, their standard browser site is fine. I am not surprised they mothballed the Windows 10 app, in all honesty most users on a PC will just use the browser based site, no point in supporting a product that has a small impact.
  22. Hang on lol, how is your score like double mine ? Out of interest did you limit your cores in Ryzen Master when running ? @mllrkllr88
  23. Im actually surprised that the memory specs have not gone up this generation. Don't get me wrong 10Gb is fine for most applications/games but I was half expecting Nvidia to pump up the memory...but of course nothing is confirmed yet.
  24. Samsung has for the most part always had a premium product but I do think they are starting to get greedy with the premium prices. The specs of the S20 are by no means weak, but it simply does not warrant the price tag. I for one next time round will be looking at the One+ range (Currently have a Huawei P10 Plus)
