Having another row is likely possible but I want to be careful as the homepage is already fairly busy. That being said, the homepage is meant to be the "summary" of site content. I will have a think on this

AMD Retreating from Enthusiast Graphics Segment with RDNA4?
ENTERPRISE replied to GanjaSMK's topic in Hardware News
That is indeed a massive factor moving forward. Something Nvidia will have to address eventually. AMD has already started mitigating that issue with chiplet design as you say, so in one way they are ahead in the game, despite chiplet disadvantages. Honestly, I would love to see what AMD did to Intel to Nvidia with the Ryzen CPU's. Chiplet design is still in its infancy and I think overtime the disadvantages can be minimized for both CPU and GPU. GPU and CPU architecture is different but I would love to see some Ryzen action for an AMD GPU, that could be a game changer. Ultimately us consumers just want competition in the market. Unchecked markets lead to continual high prices and innovation stagnation. I would like Nvidia to have some pressure on their pricing at the high end product tiers. -
After looking at this again, I am going to have a reshuffle regarding the video section to split "Internet Videos" which is just your standard off the internet videos such as LTT etc away from "Member Content". This gives us a clear division between that content. I will also post up some banners to make it clear the type of video content we expect in each section. "Internet Videos" & "Competition Drawing" will now no longer display on the homepage as I think you guys are right, while we do not have lots of pure member content, the little we do have, we should not hide it @Avacado, I have also created a dedicated section for "Competition Drawing" videos so they no longer clutter up core video feeds, but still available for those who wish to check draws are fair.

The latest entry in EK's treasure trove of winning products is the EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 DARK. They have introduced a host of enhancements over previous generations of their AIO offerings, including a new design of the CPU block and PWM pump. The new EK-Nucleus is available in both 240mm and 360mm variations, in white and black RGB, and the Dark (non-RGB) version that we are reviewing today.

CORSAIR has been involved in computer technology for roughly thirty years. They have become one of the most respected, world-leading providers of computer components and peripherals designed for PC enthusiasts. They celebrated their 10th anniversary selling computer power supplies in 2016, at which time that had sold over ten million PSUs. CORSAIR have remained at the forefront all of these years. As a result, innovation is something we have taken for granted with CORSAIR. They were kind enough to provide us with their latest flagship power supply from the RM series for review. It is a distinct honor and privilege to introduce you to the CORSAIR RM1200x SHIFT power supply. Hey friends, it is Mr. Fox again. We have another amazing product to look at. This time, it is from the good folks at Sabrent. They have provided ExtremeHW with a pair of 16GB DDR5 U-DIMM modules for review. By the time you are finished reading this review and watching the associated video you will understand why it is not a matter of if, but when, you will be using Sabrent products if you are not already.

AMD Retreating from Enthusiast Graphics Segment with RDNA4?
ENTERPRISE replied to GanjaSMK's topic in Hardware News
I agree. Unfortunately AMD has a lacking feature set compared to Nvidia. The "Powered by CUDA" by Nvidia has always had AMD on the ropes. I have used lots of software that has had lackluster hardware acceleration when AMD is concerned. Case in point, at work we do 3D scanning and you cannot even use the hardware/software with an AMD GPU. It has to be Nvidia, now whether that is due to a technical limitation or smart partnerships with Nvidia I do not know, but either way Nvidia wins and AMD is seen as a less or non viable option. Solidworks is another instance, even though a Quadro based GPU, still benchmarks better with an Nvidia GPU. That being said Solidworks works closely with Nvidia on this, so not much of a surprise but again, AMD has another missed opportunity. Nvidia has massive penetration in the gaming sector and professional sector compared to AMD and that much is painfully obvious. I mean how often do you see the AMD logo on products/software compared to Nvidia ? I have nothing against AMD and they do have good products at good price points but I go Nvidia every time...not because I like paying more, but at the end of the day Nvidia has a richer and more powerful feature set. Being a gamer and workstation user Nvidia is a must, going with AMD would (at least for my use cases) lead to buyers remorse. Furthermore, Nvidia is hot on it with Drivers with frequent releases which gives users additional choice. Last time I checked AMD drivers are less frequent. I cannot comment on how good AMD drivers are these days, I know they have supposed to have come a long way. Some may disagree, but I see AMD as the guys to go to if you are looking for a good bang for buck and are mainly interested in rasterized performance. If that is all you care about, then AMD is your guy. I have an 1000Watt XOC BIOS on my 3090 Not used it to its full potential but just wanted to point out there is at least one person here doing it lol. -
I would, if we had more of that sort of content Note that "Member Submissions" are simply videos curated by members, and was never meant as a strict "Member content" only section whereby the content was related to content found only on EHW or videos created by members such as Overlocking/Guide videos. if and when we get that sort of content, I am happy to create another category that is dedicated to "Member content" only and give that pride of place on the site, but until then I will leave it on random rotation. It is that, or do away with it altogether which I think would be a shame. I do not agree it gimps the section. We have had the video section for a fair while now and having it at the end of the posts has not yielded any benefit to the section so far as submission of any extra content. it has a fairly obvious place on the home page to which most of the site traffic lands and still the submissions have been seldom. Hopefully the section picks up and we can start doing more with it as previously stated, but with it still essentially being in its infancy it is hard. Curating content is difficult, strictly from a member created content point of view as unless you have dedicated members wanting to create that type of content, you usually have to create an incentive for content creation in the guise of prizes etc which at this point in time is not something we will be looking to do due to financial constraints.
-
I agree with the sentiments here. Unfortunately while I could limit the videos showing to strictly member related content only...that would mean the rotation of the video content would be very seldom as ultimately the section is not utilized massively at this point. Perhaps when this changes I can revisit this. I have removed the video section from displaying at the ends of threads, instead I have replaced it with an activity stream for now.

Yeah totally, the likelihood YOU would experience drive degradation/death from power cycles is highly unlikely, especially with prosumer/enterprise rated drives.

EK Nucleus AIO CR360 Dark Review Discussion
ENTERPRISE replied to Mr. Fox's topic in Review Discussions
Release -
That is a nice build for the purpose, case looks like an awesome choice too. Out of interest, is this not going to be on 24/7 ? Only because I noted you saying you would use WOL. My fileserver is on all the time but it runs more services than just file access. I know back in the day it was less wearing on HDD's to leave them on rather than powering down/up all the time. Im not sure how 'Hardy' HDD's are these days in that respect, haven't kept up with the data om that.

AMD Retreating from Enthusiast Graphics Segment with RDNA4?
ENTERPRISE replied to GanjaSMK's topic in Hardware News
I don't think they would leave the enthusiast market. Granted their top tier offerings cannot compete on the same level as Nvidia currently BUT that does not mean AMD do not or will not have enthusiast level GPU's. IF RDNA4 only comes in the guise of mid range, that is not certain indication of AMD leaving the enthusiast market and could be due to other unknown factors. I don't see the logic in them leaving that market segment, it is not like their are other competing entities other than Nvidia. I could understand if AMD was losing to other entities but ultimately the only other player right now is Nvidia. -
In that situation it certainly made sense to go for the 4090, more so due to the price. I would go for it if the price makes sense. At this point in the game, I better start saving for next gen + block lol.
-
For sure. I will stick with my 3090 with the XOC 1K watt BIOS for now and may consider the Nvidia 50 series, whenever that launches. To be fair the 3090 at stock will likely be adequate for my setup for some time, but nothing wrong with a bit of OC
-
Ha, yeah sounds like a better idea than using hairdryer! That is a sweet OC though. Definitely a keeper.

Welcome to the the community and team bud. Thanks for your efforts:)

Time for a hairdryer!

Nice one bud!

Excellent product. Fantastic for helping with e-waste, though after the PCB has dissolved, you would be left with the other board components and solder which I assume there is another process for dealing with these. That or we find a way of making everything water soluble haha, but I think that is a ways off.
