  1. Just as a small update, due to Intels lack of longevity when it comes to sockets, I have decided to go the AM5 as IMHO it offers a better upgrade route so far as not having to keep swapping out the motherboard. Granted LGA1700 lasted a fair good while, I still don't trust Intel to not switch things out. Just being pessimistic.
  2. This is a 3rd party application and not a native part of the forum software. I will see if the developer is interested in implementing this as some form of improvement. I will now mark this as solved as it is not strictly a bug
  3. Are you referring to this counter -
  4. Hey there, I have just tested this and seems to work fine. If I go to a forum where there are updated threads/new threads, the thread title is in BOLD, indicating I have not seen the latest updates. Upon clicking on "Mark forum as read" after confirming with the pop up box that I want to proceed, the page automatically refreshes and any threads that were indicated in BOLD as unread, are no longer bold.
  5. I have had the opposite experience in the I.T field. I am not what you would call "Qualified" on paper, bar a few related low level certs. However I have field experience and have found that any company I have worked with where I have either taken on the I.T fully or partially have preferred the "Real World" experience on my CV/Resume over any certification and have rarely even asked if im Cisco or Microsoft certified etc. Granted at the very beginning of my I.T career, I had to prove myself and do the slog, but once you have done that and learned demonstrable skills, you are on a good path. I am not saying don't get the certs, if you have the drive and money to do them, all the power to you. I came from a working class family with very low income and at the start didn't have the financial backing to go after all the various certs. These days I could go after them, but being in my current Job role and having years worth of practical experience, I just don't need to. Perhaps that will change. Best of luck bud!

  7. This looks awesome, I think it will help streamline submissions greatly. Thanks for all the hard work you have put into making this happen.
  8. Those are some great timings for 4000Mhz. I am guessing the system has trouble running in 1T ?
  9. I think Windows 12 will offer a Cloud access derivative for sure, but they wont move to 100% cloud computing as that would be a fantastic way to murder your market share. As you said @UltraMega, I reckon Windows 12 will have more emphasis on AI and "Intelligent Computing". What I can say almost for certain as with WIndows 11, I would imagine they will proceed to dumb down the OS further making life a nightmare for I.T admins....or anyone who wants access what I consider standard OS tools that should not be masked.
  10. The GPU loss was bad enough, while I am not all that fussed about there motherboards, It would suck if they pulled out of the PSU market. I love my EVGA PSU. My RTX 3090 is EVGA, when it comes to upgrading that somewhere down the line it already sucks I cannot replace it with another EVGA. If they did decide to pull out of the PC market, then surely that is EVGA closed altogether? I am not aware they have business in other sectors.
  11. I would say this is 100% the logic they are using.
  12. Looks like the 14th Gen refresh may very well be compatible with existing motherboards Error 404 (Not Found)! WWW-FORBES-COM.CDN.AMPPROJECT.ORG
  13. Glad you got it sorted, though usually if its a driver issue, Windows "should" BSOD, so im surprised the driver issue tripped the system into a full reboot automatically. That was why I bought up making sure that auto reboot was disabled. Strange, but all that counts is you got it sorted and you can play BF !
  14. Given it an edit Looks fine to me It is possible depending the timezone, it will vary. Not sure to be honest.
  15. Hmm seems like it will be a process of elimination then. Are you able to get your hands on another PSU for testing? I think if you can eliminate the PSU as the issue that's a good head start. Also, do you experience these issues running everything at Stock ? No OC or XMP set ?
  16. To ensure that it is not a windows/driver related issue, I would disable auto restart upon a blue screen. By default windows is set to auto restart when it hits an issue causing a BSOD, which I think is fairly idiotic setting as it makes the issue harder to diagnose. Disable auto restart by going to Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings. Go to the "Startup & Recovery" > Settings and un-tick the "Automatically Restart" checkbox and click OK. Next time the PC reboots itself, a BSOD will appear and will indicate what driver/software failed and caused the BSOD. Hopefully this will give you some more clues. If it happens, take a picture and pop it in this thread IF it is a PSU issue then the system will trip and auto reboot, you would not get a BSOD in this instance.
  17. That is a good shout, I have created a new forum for Online Deals: https://extremehw.net/forum/130-online-deals/
  18. Stoked that the Master Collection is also coming with the original Metal Gear games and it looks like MGS4 will also be making its way over
