  1. The solid state TrueNas server is becoming a reality (for those with lots of data)
  2. Yes, I meant to mention a new version was installed on the site
  3. No, not as a standard thing. I have done builds for family and a select few others.
  4. Shipping PC's, definitely not my favourite thing as transit is always rough, couriers do not exactly put down packages the way you would like them to, plus you have the movement during transit. I always double box rigs. Between the rig box and outer box I will put foam spacers to keep a good air barrier between the two, this is all round and top/bottom. Just creates a good buffer zone. Did you use expanding foam packaging within the rig? I do regardless of the components, just keeps everything snug. Glad he was understanding and gave you a good rating. In a way, you got lucky that they were understanding and a dab hand at repairs. So your view on improvement is right on, not everyone will be that cool. Looks like a great start bud
  5. Fantastic data @BWG Reducing the power used by the GPU's when folding/mining has multiple advantages as you state. Keeping the bills and heat low not only benefits the individual but decreasing the power usage lends to more green and responsible energy usage. It is a win across the board
  6. Great review @Sir Beregond. The tilt function certainly not a new thing. My Lexip mouse (Kickstarter) had all round tilt, it was essentially a mouse and joystick in one which was really cool but didn't use it much out of flight sims. I personally don't mind additional software accompanying hardware such as iCue and similar to enhance the feature set, and I feel most are of the same opinion. The real crux of the issue is that much of the time the accompanying software is not lightweight so far as system resources.

    Ex-Box One S

Wow that is an awesome build! Thanks for sharing it with the community.
  8. Interesting concept, one of the pro's other than tidiness will be it will help support the rear of the GPU and help with sagging. The downside to this is that it is not going to become a standard offering. So you end up locked in the Asus ecosystem if you want to take advantage of this feature. I like the idea though to be honest.
  9. That is very true, well being the top of the leader board at some point is better than never being there ! To be honest I would like to see how long we can keep the number 1 spot.
  10. I love it, you guys are not even give the competition a chance, absolutely smashing it!
  11. Wow, you guys are still smashing it
  12. Nice one guys, keep thrashing the competition. What is an "Overclock.net" ?
  13. I have spoken with the developer. It used to work the way you have mentioned, but apparently there was a core software update to the platform software that disabled this. However the developer has done some work and re-implemented this feature. The new version should be installed in around 10 days or so as all new versions have to go through a validation period.
  14. Thanks for confirming guys. This is definitely a FF thing after testing.
  15. Browser ? Works ok for me on Desktop and mobile using Chrome.
  16. Thanks for the advice Point 3 and 4 seem odd though. Restricted to using Balanced power plan seems odd unless AMD tied there management specifically to that power plan. Will have to test that and Ultimate Performance to see if there is a difference. No surprise though that Microsoft have tied things up to the XBOX Game Bar however.
  17. I opted for the 7950X3D already, I am not benching with it so that is not much of a concern to me. I have a mixture of workloads and I wanted to see how the 3D V-Cache variants faired. So far as motherboards, I stayed away from Asus as they have proven to disappoint me on the last occasions I have owned one. I have gone for the MSI MEG Ace which seems to have a decent balance of feature set. Having owned a MEG series of motherboard before with MSI I was confident in my choice, but proof will be in the pudding once it is all set up. So far as the RAM, yeah, 6000Mhz is the sweet spot, so that is what I got with some Corsair Dominators.
  18. ......Just because you can, doesn't mean you should! Totally not surprised. Google within reason has a virtually unlimited library of information, whether it be publicly available or not. So if they want to train an AI system, they have a good pool of information to say the least.
  19. Yeah no doubt that every socket and motherboard has its limitation regarding future generation support. Drawing from previous experiences of the AM* platform, it tends to offer better longevity over Intel offerings, typically. However as you say, perhaps the long life of AM4 is an outlier and AM5 will be shorter live, I guess only time will tell.
