  1. Not a bad price! I don't think you will have any remorse. Looking at the benches of the 7950X3D, while it does take a lead in some titles, the cost disparity isn't worth it to be honest. While the 3D counterparts will always be more expensive, I would like to see future versions with the cache balanced over both dies to avoid the latency penalty of the non cache core accessing the cache on the other die. Plus by that point they may have also found a way to mitigate the clock speed penalties associated with having 3D cache.
  2. Hello all, As some of you may already be aware, we have a new member amongst our staff ranks. Please join me in welcoming @neurotix to the Graphics Designer role. Neurotix will be helping us with our day to day graphics needs for our competitions and our social media, and likely more moving forward. Please join me in congratulating Neurotix in his new role on the site. Here is an example which brings two tone to your computer hardware! All the best, E
  3. Happy Birthday @Bastiaan_NL ! I hope you have a good one bud
  4. Welcome to EHW! Glad to see another old skool OCN member here
  5. Linux might be your best bet to be honest, though I am sure there is a way to do it through a UEFI shell. So far as a bios recovery filename, this is an arbitrary value and you should be able to name it whatever you want, however, wherever the bios file is mentioned, you just have to make sure you use the same all the way through. However for simplicity and following the guide, I would just use whatever name values they are using.
  6. Check the CPU specifications. The CPU will detail its max supported RAM. That can also be a good indication.
  7. Ha, well I guess they could go that route. If they do, I will consider EHW the original cause of inspiration and we can all walk away rich
  8. Rent VRAM? While possible in a virtualized environment, if it was possible physically Nvidia would jump on it lol.
  9. Tech & Science News Posting Rules This topic serves to outline the rules for posting news on the site. All news should be submitted in the correct category. Our categories range from: Hardware News Software News Technology & Science Journalism & Entertainment *For news that does strictly fit in other categories* Rumour Mill How to post news All news articles must be relevant to the core content of the site which is Technology & Science. Anything related to other content types will be removed. Legitimate news articles, as proven factual by the source is to reside in the Hardware News, Software News, Technology & Science as appropriate. Any news articles that , as proven factual by the source, but does not strictly relate to the news sections available, are to reside in the Journalism & Entertainment section. Any articles that are unsubstantiated/un-confirmed by the source should reside in the Rumour Mill section. Any articles that involve an in-depth analysis would be considered a review, as such these articles should be posts in the relevant forum section, or if a video can be posted in our video section. Each new text based news post must have quoted excerpt from the original article. All quoted sections should have its source noted. For example the formatting would look like the below : Source Link In the instance where a news post consists of a video a simple embedding or linking of the video will suffice., there is no need to quote any of the videos content or include a source link. All news posts when submitted should have a News Source Tag appended. You do this by clicking on the "Choose" button which will supply a dropdown allowing you to select the news source. If your news source is not present, please add it as a tag so that we can add it into the system for the future. Feel free to also send a message to ENTERPRISE in order to have the news source tag added. No politics. Please refrain where possible posting anything that has links or pertains to politics. Politics is a very divisive topic and tends not to bring out the best in most of us. No Conspiracy Theories. Conspiracy theories, like politics can be a very divisive subject and as such we will not support them. Please note that should a news topic not be related to a conspiracy theory, but ends up with conspiracy like posts/replies, they will be deleted. Can I post news in a video format ? Yes of course. Videos, whether on YouTube or like platforms is become a staple content type and we accept news posts that are video related. My new post has been moved, why ? From time to time a news post may not fit in the section it has been originally posted and will be moved to the appropriate news section by a News Editor or Moderator. In some rarer circumstances, content posted in the news section may not strictly fit the news section at all. In those scenarios, your post will be moved to the most appropriate forum section. If your news post has been moved and you disagree with the move, then you can discuss this further with myself via PM. All the best, Team EHW
  10. The issue with the Marketplace should now be resolved.
  11. It is a pain. I have cancelled many a service, whether it be ISP related or otherwise and usually if there customer retention team is good enough, they will persuade me to stay with them. Any money for them in better than no money, so it is in their interest to keep you onboard, even if at a heavy discount. I have had some good deals in the past with customer retention, especially on mobile contracts, they are pretty good at slashing prices when you get down to it.
  12. I love the idea to be honest, though as already mentioned, I wonder how it would compare to a normally heated water tank so far as how hot the water would actually be. That could possibly be one of the downsides.
  13. @bonami2, mind doing a promote ? I will also do one a little down the line. Cheers
  14. Thanks, I will have the dev look at that
  15. Yeah, ultimately you are paying for just the platform change at that point. This is why im not changing out my 5950X until there is a more compelling reason to. Ultimately with the 7000 series CPU you are just paying the platform upgrade tax with little real world performance difference against the 5000 series. Ultimately you are paying the DDR5 adopters fees. The next gen of CPU's may make more sense upgrade wise. Im chilling until the DDR5 platform as a whole has matured some more.
  16. I completely forgot they locked down the X3D's. Maybe there will be a workaround some say. That being said though,PBO will see you a good way.
  17. It is saying the usage is: winflash32 sd Don't use a / or - prior to the command, just a space.
  18. Are you overclocking this CPU or just leaving it to PBO. If you are overclocking I would be interested in seeing the mileage you get with the B650E
  19. We would be glad to have you
  20. After speaking with the dev, this should all be well. It is recommended to clear out your cache etc and re-test.
  21. It is HIGHLY unlikely you will have any Overclocking or tweaking options in the BIOS anyway. Custom laptops/ enthusiast laptops usually do but a run of the mill Lenovo,Dell,HP etc, they lock all of that out. I would suggest at this point there is something wrong with the BIOS. It is functioning enough to allow you to POST and get into the OS. But it seems it has been messed with and locked out. I think your only other option is to use a flash tool outside of the Windows environment and use a flag in the command that forces the flash regardless if it is the same version. [Tutorial] How to create a bootable USB Drive to flash a Lenovo device's BIOS - Jack Stromberg JACKSTROMBERG.COM This tutorial will review how to create a bootable USB drive to flash the fimrware/bios on your... This would get you started and may work without any further intervention.
  22. I will see what else if anything can be done to adjust the behaviour further
