I don't see where it's much different from when XP updated to service pack 1,2,or3. The earlier versions of XP weren't supported and didn't get updates.This is similar because the update being installed is the latest supported and EOL for the 1 it's replacing is in may.Yes,it's a little heavy handed,but we're in an era when our govt. has to be TOLD to patch their computers for issues that are being actively exploited.Sadly,not everyone can be trusted to do simple maintenance.

That would be a nice idea,but I think there might be issues with warranties because of them saying it was cooling related? since it's non-factory cooling? (I've never water cooled anything except a 775 system with an aio so never had a warranty issue)

lol, I'm doing MY share, a list of my graphics upgrades. GTX 750ti, a HD5770 that came pre-installed in a prebuilt dell was replaced with a GTX 970, and now an RTX 2070. I also have a GTX 950 that I put in the wifes comp to replace the 750ti she was using. Most everything else was purchased off ebay for used builds. (e.g. hd3450)

the system is all air cooling,simple OC on cpu,same with gpu when I use it. (they're software based from the aorus and evga software lines) first gen rtx 2070(non super).Edit: Things like this are why I hate Nvidia at times, twice the shaders,same amount of ram,but an actual list price cheaper than I paid for my 2070... 3 and 1/2 hours later, windows is still installing the updates on the clean install of the fall 2021 release iso. lol, can't wait to see the test results for the atom 330 cpu, may even score lower than the p4.... Edit: Well, it surprised me,but still good low end results for a dual core with HT...

Here's a sloppy(gigabyte software) O.C. to 4.1 ish of my Ryzen 2700x minus Firefox, taskmanager shows crap running in background during test from the game apps. Edit: Just an FYI, the P4 is stock settings on the Dell.... No underclocking on that baby!

All right gentlemen,I guess I have to fire up the dell dimension 3100 running win10 with the P4 and 3Gb of ram for the slowest test result.... Heres the results, looks like it's gonna take an athlon Xp or a Duron to knock me outta last place! lol, Microsoft wants me to ck to see if I can run Windows 11!

Update:After purchasing new larger drive for christmas present, I used Acronis true image to transfer the data from the old smaller drive to the new drive in the original faster slot. After transfering,I removed the old drive completely,switched the bios BACK to booting from the faster slot(it showed the new drive no issue) and booted with no problems and have been running for a couple of weeks now. NOW I have to see about updating the bios again.Guess maybe I'll go slower with that this time.

Glad I'm not the only one who finds a use for the hdmi switches. using 2 of them on the bedroom tv so the wife can have her xbox s,Series S ,PS4,computer,PS3,and FireStick in there. tv has 3 hdmi inputs so the Firestick,PS4,and PS3 are on 1, xbox & comp are on another with other xbox on third so she can swith easier with the tv remote. Powering on devices does most of her device switching as needed on the switches.
