  1. The lack of Android Auto in the mustang is the only thing about the car that's been annoying me. Adding it myself is still a lot cheaper than buying a newer car.
  2. Is the only change to the T-shirts the printing method? I have one of the originals and it seems a bit flimsy. I'd love to see a heavyweight shirt at some point.
  3. I'll be out of town the entire event but I'll leave a card or two folding
  4. I've never had him in my car... But I did ride in his car. I don't remember what it smelled like before, but it definitely smelled like a pile of sweaty bros and beer farts afterward
  5. That's a shame it turned out to be junk. A little amp with a sub channel is a lot less common. I actually just swapped out my SMSL mini amp in my bedroom. That amp is fine but didn't have a sub output and I wanted to simplify my remote setup. Originally had a nice Logitech Harmony but I accidentally washed it with the sheets. I decided to swap to one of my Denon receivers which is overkill for just 2 channels and sub out. But the TV can control it over ARC so I can just use the TV remote for everything.
  6. Another great review. That's one serious unit. Dual 12VHPWR connectors... Sounds like you're ready to pick up a couple 4000 series cards and fire up Folding@home
  7. Got signed up. I can spare a card or two for the event. I'll swap back whenever our next foldathon happens
  8. It's actually a Marchal logo. Since it's a race sim I was going to cover it with vintage motorsports sponsorship logos.
  9. So it's been a while since I updated this. My roommate decided maybe we should stop being nerds and have a more "normal" main living room so He'll just pull his sim rig out when he wants to use it and mine migrated upstairs to the home theater. Doesn't look like I ever mentioned it but I added a Simagic TB-1 Handbrake a while ago. I've had a 3080 Ti and a nice Aquacomputer block for it for a long time... Probably around a year now Finally put the block on and swapped it into the PC. I also swapped in a spicy kit of Trident Z Royal 4800cl17 in the beautifully tacky Nigerian prince gold. I managed to order the correct "extended" block but the standard length backplate But it works good and now the sim rig is complete until I get the itch to upgrade the whole cockpit/frame since drunk me tends to bend the bracket the handbrake is mounted on. If I actually start using it more I might pick up the direct drive wheel base but I'd rather dump money in my real cars before spending any more on this.
  10. The 4090 rig is upstairs so I assume he just doesn't leave it running all the time to not bother his wife with the fans and LEDs. I on the other hand can create a beautiful hellscape with way too many cards running in way to small of room. A little over 80f in the office currently I put the block on the 3080ti and got some distilled to leak test, but then ran out of motivation.
  11. Fine I will lol I have the 4070 Ti, 2080 and one 3090 up now. I've got a new waterblock that's been mocking me for months for the 3080ti so I'll try and get that installed, leak checked, and folding tomorrow. The other 3090s have been busy rendering lately but I might be able to spin those up for a few hours as well
  12. I'm a total slut for watercooling. It's appealing for a combination of added performance, silence, and aesthetics. I do however understand that it's a terrible investment for most people. I also focus on actual performance and use big external rads and soft tubing. Not the bare minimum rad space in an airflow choked glass fishbowl of a case. I miss how much more unique builds used to be when people just had to engineer their own solutions. I also totally hear you on the motherboard cost creep. It seems like you're either stuck with bottom of the barrel junk or ultra premium. Not a lot of good stuff falls in the affordable middle of the road range. I like having high end boards (even though I'm a noob overclocker) but I don't really like paying for stuff I'll never use like Thunderbolt, USB DAC's, daughterboards for a gazillion M.2 drives etc.
  13. I guess I should start folding Not really feeling like putting all the rigs back together right meow but I'll try and get a couple things running by tomorrow.
  14. Great job on the review! That's a nice looking kit, especially with the copper heatsinks.
  15. I love ghetto rigging shenanigans. I'm not as OCD as but I would love to see the datavac blow the dust out of that rig.
  16. I think it's about time I do another batch of stickers. This time I'm going to design one specific to our folding team. Not sure if I'll aim for end of the year or the big event in a couple months. I'll keep you posted on what I come up with.
  17. I'm ready to not sweat my balls off for a foldathon
  18. A lot of things happened to OCN... Not going into all that lol Part of it is just that internet forums in general are less popular than they were a decade ago. A lot of people switched to things like Reddit and discord. Which we do have a discord server as well. As Pio pointed out a lot of us got tired of low effort content so we came here. Catch me outside how bout dat
  19. Welcome A lot of us are OCN runaways so you're bound to see a few familiar faces.
  20. I just did the ole copy image instead of actually uploading it to the site which normally works fine but I guess it wanted to be uppity tonight. Should be fixed now so you can go back to bed
  21. Back in the day I was interested in the Fury X and to see how HBM memory would work out but I did what most people did and bought the 980ti instead Got this for a good deal because it just has the block, no stock cooler (fine by me since I watercool everything anyway). Also pictured is a G3258 that I picked up in a lot of CPUs. I actually owned a pair of G3258s back in the day and had a bit of fun with them. Now that I'm more into HWBOT I wanted to play with one again for some points.
  22. I personally don't have a problem with that although I think $20 might be discouraging to a lot of people. We had a fair amount of participation from members outside the site that in turn stuck around. Asking too much might turn away people that might otherwise be interested. I have no idea what it cost to distribute and pay import duties on last years haul but for the sake of easy math let's say we need $500 to cover it. At $20 you would need 25 people to pay to play At $10 it's 50 people At $5 it jumps up to 100. So saying we had around 75 people last year, that makes me think $10 is the sweet spot. Not everyone that participates is interested in prizes. And of those interested, many would be on the fence about an entry fee at all. $10 or less is pocket change. Above that I think you'll start scaring people off. I wasn't aware that we incurred so much expense getting the prizes out last time. Regardless of what we end up setting it to, I'm willing to chip in a little extra if we come up short so it's not all falling on your shoulders.
