So far I got my eyes set on this board, but just not so sure about the RAM & also the cooling of the CPU... I wanna get the AMD EPYC 7H12 64c/128t chip for like 750 or something like that maybe. I'm sure it has more power than a 13900k in multi threaded tasks like specifically encoding?

I need a lot of threads & I only use AMD hardware & decent AMD EPYC IPC for encoding tasks, primitive encoding tasks like H264, H265, among older stuff as well. It needs to game faster or equal to a 3700x @ 4700Mhz all core but smoke it on any other task. What do you think this board would look like on the back of the IO plate? I never install an IO plate anyway, just wondering if it would fit even know it says Proprietary. ASRock ROMED4ID-2T

Does anyone know what the most powerful/ economical cpu would be for a simple system for gaming but on the side lots of encoding & cpu work. I want at a bare minimum 24c/48t because I want to surpass the 3950x on total compute horsepower, not necessarily IPC. I just want more than a 3950x/5950x on a budget with a Supermicro motherboard ITX if possible with say 64GB RAM. I'm not sure what my budget is yet but I spent way too much on my 3700X system, at least my parents made me feel that way. I'd prefer a 32c/64t chip on a ITX Supermicro board unless ASUS makes an EPYC board at a bargain value? Thanks

I tried xvid, divx, motion jpeg, mpeg & nothing idk where to find out what the specs are on video playback compatibility. When opening .mp4's or any other such format even .avi as someone said on Amazon, invalid format.

What are the video codec specifications & requirements for TIMOOM M6 32GB MP3 Player for video playback? I cannot find any information except from Amazon & I cannot find a manual pdf or anything. If anyone knows anything about "ARCHAIC VIDEO CODECS" & .AVI Containers @ say from what I found 320x240 resolution @ unknown frame rate & unknown bitrate & unknown video codec. I tried some test videos .avi @ 320x240 23.98fps to 30fps with mpeg codec to motion jpeg, no dice. Thanks

Yeah I saw 5700 xt vs vega 64 is about 10-15fps faster at 4k avg on techpowerup benchmarks. I play everything at 4k nowadays even at 30-40fps (vega 64 reported 37.9 fps avg vs rx 5700 xt 45 fps avg), it's perfectly fine for me for $175 not bad. Once you get into RDNA 2 territory, it gets so expensive. My dream gpu is the 7900 xtx but hey thats a dream & i'd go powercolor red devil as well. Thanks all for the suggestions. I'll update the thread when I test out some GPU(s).

I am thoroughly impressed with my Powercolor Red Dragon Vega 56 with Vega 64 BIOS with 1.2v vCore which is stock & cannot be adjusted for 1630mhz core basically max stable & the memory at 1.35v at 1001mhz clock which yields over 512GB/s, and I set it to 1001mhz because if set to 1000mhz it reports just 999mhz in HWINFO which is annoying on the OSD. Performance is quite adequite but just wanted to test a 5700 XT I guess to compare to the Vega 56 on Vega 64 BIOS with some mods using Softpowerplaytable editor & what not. Thanks again So I guess I'll just win the lottery & buy Powercolor red devil rx vega 64 & rx 5700 xt just to compare on this supermicro board running amd opteron 4386 boosts as high as 3.8ghz but mostly just 3.4ghz with 64gb ddr3-1866 samsung modules.

Thanks so much for the replies! Yeah I have a AMD Opteron 4386 in there, I believe it's like 4 Module / 8 Thread. Does that mean its actually a Quad-Core with SMT or some such like AMD scammed us on these generation chips? I was told AMD Radeon Vega 64 is the best for legacy, but I kinda wanna see if a 5700 xt would work because the price is competitive on ebay for a 5700 xt vs Vega 64 right now. So your saying I need to buy & test a 5700 xt on this board because 5700 xt is faster than vega 64 right? I wanna clock it to 2Ghz on a Powercolor Red Devil RX 5700 XT, that would be nice! Upgrade the Supermicro H8SCM-F to 2x 32gb pc3-14900 ddr3-1866 modules because if u occupy all slots it backs the speed off to 1066mhz and causes system crashes & instability even on the latest bios update. So I'm stuck with 64 gigabytes of ram, which is fine for gaming. Thanks again

I was thinking AMD Vega 64 because of the legacy? nature of the H8SCM-F but idk if I could run a NAVI GPU on this board or not like a RX 5700 XT would be interesting? AMD Radeon RX 550 4GB Dell Low Profile HDMI Audio Not Working On Roku 720p TV? Does anyone know why I cannot get the sound to work on rx 550 dell low profile on windows 11? It says not plugged in, in mmsys.cpl. I installed a newer & older audio driver & display driver & it doesn't work on my this 32" Roku 720p tv nor does it work on a Hisense 43A6H 4k 43" tv. It worked on two older Element TVs though so why does it say not plugged in on these two new TVs on this RX 550 only? Thanks Thanks

Can I replace a Realtek 8821CE with a Intel AX201NGW & What antenna's do they take? Heres the cpu at stock speed on top and full speed on bottom... Maybe its the game engine but at first i see worse performance at full speed than at stock speed.

I tried out what u said and its having issues, worse performance at full speed clock than if left at stock clocks where it down clocks down to close to 1Ghz per core in game. I need to disable CPU power management (AMD APM) Application Power Management of the CPU to improve performance in game. I locked it down to 2.5Ghz and it got about 14fps in game & then I returned to stock throttling clocks and the fps went up to 47fps. This is testing on the R5 integrated graphics to see how the power is handled between the CPU and GPU. Its handled very poorly. These CPUs are way faster if AMD CPU APM was disabled.
