Just a heads up guys, I lost some points today (since my last post here). Had an issue with my local DB getting messed up, and wasn't able to recover the latest points at the time. So we're rolled back to earlier today, about 8hrs. Sorry about that, trying to make some scripts to assist with recovery for things like this.

Evening all.

 

I've got something working for user retirement, but I need some help. I need someone who is able to Fold on a specific passkey (can be a new one), and is able to deliver WUs semi-regularly.

I can't guarantee those points will count for the TC though, so I don't want to grab someone from the existing pool (unless someone is ok with that).

 

Just hard to test that I disable a user and re-enable it again correctly without points coming in consistently.

 

Let me know if anyone's up for it.

Anything that gives me a WU every few updates will work. The plan is to add you to a dummy team, let you get some points. Then retire you and make sure:
- Earned points are not lost for the team

- You still show up in the team, but as retired

- New points that you earn are not counted

 

Then I'll look into moving you to another team and make sure only the new team is credited. Should take 2/3 days to verify.

The three points above are all working now. Testing un-retiring, and moving to another team next. ?

All done, retiring/unretiring/moving users all seems to be sorted. Thanks @Bastiaan_NL, couldn't have done it without your consistent WUs. :)

 

I'm gonna spend the next few days doing code cleanup/optimizations. We'll hit the monthly reset this weekend, so I'll wait for that before making any new features.

 

In the case it doesn't work as planned, I will continue resetting the stats for everyone until it does work, so potentially the May stats won't "start" until a couple of days in. But I'm hopeful. ?

Switching to a static multiplier for every GPU and across all categories for May to see how that works. It makes all of the multipliers static rather than being based on the best active card per category. This will normalize the  stats system across all categories. The current system seems to be working fairly well, and I hope this will too. Also, making them static, and based on 1 top PPD card could allow automation monthly via a LARS query, but that's for much later.

 

Per below, best overall GPU is a 3090 on Windows at 6,723,008. All multipliers will be based on that.

 

New adjustments will be:

 

  • Bastiaan_NL RTX 2080 ti x1.46
  • tenchimuyo93 RX 580 x16.38
  • BWG GTX 960 x21.33
  • Avacado Tesla M40 x6.99
  • tictoc Radeon VII x3.62
  • axipher GTX 1050 ti x18.89
  • Supercrumpet GTX 960 x20.82
  • damrix HD 7850 x54.67

Ok now what GPU are you using now for this? Is it on the LARS Database? At least I have a rule for that ;)

Will be cool to see how this pans out. Still think everyone is gimped compared to the 2080 Ti, except maybe the Radeon VII r/e overclocking. Time will tell. As I said on OCN, when Mining is no longer a thing and I get the 4 horsmen rig built, will be looking to actually give @Bastiaan_NL a challenge with one of my Ti's. Never actually wanted to use a tesla for the TC, just couldn't spare my daily driver for something that was meant to run 24/7.

Maybe, I want to beat him with even tech. Iv'e always been after that. Kinda like may the best OC and luck of WU's win kinda thing.

Actually going to switch back to the HD 7850 tomorrow. I just needed to test that 350 today. I did find it in the database in the form of 8670 and other rebrands.

@Avacado And because of that thinking, I had a long term plan to group like hardware on a page in the stats so you could see how you stack up against same hardware folks, but that plan was before we decided to scrap the old site and re-build it. Even wanted to make that page something non-event folders could be tracked in to see how they could do over a period of time against the event folders. Future event potential.

Well, I suppose using an inferior GPU we know would be less ppd would only detriment your team in the live environment, but the rule will be you fold the hardware you entered with, and can only change it when I give you the ? because I'd have to adjust the multiplier before you drop units on the new hardware.

 

Some of the same rules from old tc will be applicable. I'll update the manual here soon with those.

I could limit the power for now to the original 100% if the card performs too well.

 

It would be easy to beat my 2080ti with the 1660ti I have if we take the multiplier into account (lowest ppd is 25% over lar systems average), so I'm sure there should be more cards that are able to beat the ti.
