Documents for Rig Creator 2.0 submitted for development. Development should start next week

Rig Creator 1.5 has just been released. 

 

Alterations to 1.5: 

 

* Overclock & Other fields to adhere to line breaks

* Max Rig profiles to be increased to 8

* Decrease max image upload size to 1.5Mb

* Rig profiles as shown in Rig Creator section to show 8 components as per signature.

* Add a "Show in signature" checkbox to rig creation form.

* Make "Show all rigs"/"Hide all rigs" in signature on non dark theme more visible.

 

A share function has also been added, however this still needs some tweaks. The Overclock & Other info fields now feature proper editors, as such you can now input all your information in all its properly formatted glory

 

Rig Creator 2.0 to be developed soon. 

 

* Rig Of The Week. This will be a widget on the homepage and possibly other areas of the site that randomly chooses and showcases a rig for a week. 

* Rig Albums. Rather than being allowed only 1 image upload per rig profile, we will increase this to 10. The user also has the option for the images to be shared in the Rig Creator album in the site public gallery 

* Rig profile download. This will allow a user to download his their rig as input on the site (Components Fields, Overclock info field, Other info field and uploaded images)

Noticed a small bug whereby the info input in the Overclock and Other fields shows in HTML format if a user clicks on "Full Rig Info", reported and should be fixed soon.

The rig creator is really cool. My only criticism is that it takes up a lot of space on mobile. IMO rigs should have a collapsed tab or just be scaled down a bit.

You have the "Hide all rigs" button in the signature area which will you can select, this will decrease your scrolling on mobile

Updates to Rig Creator as of today 12/08/21

 

• You can now have up to 15 Rig Profiles.
• Users now have the ability to switch Rig Signatures on or of independently for Desktop/Mobile.
• Overclock & Other info information on rig profiles now show side by side to prevent scrolling.
• “Full Rig Info” button will now take you to the correct rig depending on which rig tab you were viewing in the signature when clicked. It will now take you to that specific rigs full information as opposed to just taking you to the first rig on the list in the user profile
• Additional alterations to the sharing functionality.

 

I figured you guys may like the ability to add additional rigs, so you can now have 15

 

Some additional visual fixes will be incoming soon.

Rig Creator 2.0 has begun.

 

Started a little later as I wanted to get the core of Rig Creator singing and dancing before making moving forward, we are now in a good place now to begin phase 2 to add in the last of the features on the current roadmap.

* Rig Albums allowing you to upload multiple images of your rig and link them to a rig profile.

* Rig profile download. This will allow a user to download his their rigs as input on the site which will include a full list of specifications, Overclock & Other info and will also save out all images you have in your Rig Album. (However this will only work if you have linked your rig profile with a rig album)

* Rig sharing. We will incorporate sharing of your rig to Facebook and Twitter.

Hello All, 

 

Just a quick note regarding Rig Creator. 

 

1. We have increased the maximum rig profiles to 30, this is particularly helpful for those with folding/mining farms or for those who wish to have a historical record of rigs, even if they no longer have them. 

 

2. To ensure that the Rig Creator is being used as intended, we have limited each component field to 45 characters. We found that some users were using singular fields to throw in all their rig information which ultimately is not how the tool is intended. So we have put this limit in place to combat this.

Just that I have a few lines in mine that exceed 45, and my longest is 63.

That is a fair use case, I can see your RAM description is a long one, but pertinent all the same. I will add it to the to do list

We will soon be updating our Rig Creator whereby you will have price fields next to each inputted component in your rig. All prices input on components will be automatically added together to form a total rig cost. So for accurate rig pricing, we encourage people fill out the prices where possible  

 

In order to carry out the changes, the current field used in your Rig Creator profiles "Rig Price" will be removed upon upgrade. As such any price input prior, will be lost forever.  If you would like to record your rig prices, please take a backup.

Hey E,

 

I am having trouble with rig creator and cannot edit any of my rigs. There's no pencil icon by them to edit them. I was going to go put prices in.

 

 

 

I'm on mobile in Firefox using a lot of addons, they have never affected it in the past. Thanks.
