Informative Articles for our users and SEO.

Hello all, 

 

As part of our SEO, we are creating some informative articles relating to our core content. Not only does it make sense for us to have these articles to help those new to the PC realm, it also helps bolster our SEO. Our SEO work have been going on for some weeks now and all has gone smoothly up until the informative articles. These were supposed to be created by the SEO content writers as part of the project. Unfortunately what was provided was sub bar, incomplete and mediocre. It was clear that the content writers have little applicable knowledge in this area.

 

So, as we have a community of those who are actually in the know, it made sense to come to you guys to write our informative articles!

 

So what are we after ? 

 

We are after some informative articles based on the following subject matter:

 

CPU -  (What is a CPU, Different types of CPU, What does a CPU of 2022 control Etc) @PCSarge

Memory - (What is RAM, Types Of Ram, Generations Of RAM, Single Channel, Dual Channel & Quad Channel differences Etc)  Being written by @pioneerisloud

Cooling  - (Types of Cooling, Heatinks, AIO, Custom WC, Best use cases Etc)  @Sir Beregond

Storage - (Describe HDD's, SSD's, NVMe's, Best use cases Etc) @bluedevil

Overclocking - (What is Overclocking, What can you Overclock, Overclocking best practises)  @bluedevil

Graphics Cards - (What is a graphics card ? Dedicated vs Discrete) @PCSarge

Motherboards - (What motherboards are, variations in motherboard sizes and use cases, Chipsets, PCI-E Generations)  Being written by @pioneerisloud

 

Note that the talking points are not exhaustive and you can add to these as you feel best. I would love for these articles to be reasonably in-depth, so do not be afraid to get into the nitty gritty. They should however be easy to follow from a beginners point of view.

 

What is in it for me? 

 

Aside from helping to create first class content for ExtremeHW with with your name on, this will also aid in growing our userbase and excelling our standing online. We know that these articles can take time to write and can take a good amount of effort.  So we are adding a bounty of £100 / $134 US/ $171 CAD/€119 EUR for each written article. (Exchange rates taken from xe.com)

 

Where will my content be shown? 

 

Your content will be considered pro content and as such will hold pride of place one our Review Site. As it will be on our review site, you will need to write your article on our Wordpress platform. If you do not already have access, it will be provided to you and we will help you if you have any questions.

This will be a first come first serve situation. Choose a category from above and send me a PM and we can get started.

For fairness, you may only choose a maximum of two categories to cover. 

 

Payment 

 

Payment will be made within 90 days of satisfactory completion of each article. Payments will be made via PayPal.

I have written a few articles for the site and i'm far from good at it, but I am gaining an understanding at SEO. I'll step aside for any eager members of the site to get their name published. I don't know what your timescale is E, but if you need anything done that isn't done by then, i'll be happy to help and you can keep the money for the site. A lot of the guys here have WAY more technical prowess than I. I would probably be strongest in Cooling and OCing.

The SEO part, just to be clear, does not have to be considered when writing these articles. The SEO comes later, but uses these articles, that is all

I could probably write a few of those if you needed.  Problem is, I don't really consider myself an "expert" in any of those areas though.  More of a tinkerer that occasionally catches things on fire. I'm also not entirely sure how in depth you are wanting these either, I really only know the basics and how to put things in laymen terms.

No need to be an "expert" to be frank, what you can produce will be far better than what was presented to me. Regarding how detailed they need to be, I think what ever level you feel comfortable with bud

Well, where can I start writing up rough drafts for ya then?   

EDIT:  I'd be interested in covering memory, motherboards, and / or GPU's if it helps any.  I see a maximum of 2 per person, but those are the 3 areas I feel I'd know the most about to be useful.  I think I'd write waaaaaaay too much on the topic of GPU's though.  So depending on other's choices, those are the areas I'd like but I'm not too terribly picky.

EDIT2:  While we're at it, I'll toss in a basic write up for audio as well as a free bonus!

No good for SEO using articles from another source as it confuses search engines.

I am interested in doing an article on the different types of cooling. Admittedly, I am not a writer, however it is a topic I think I could speak to and I would take the time to run through drafts and edits to get the flow right. I will preface that I do not know anything about more exotic types like LN2 or peltier, but having been custom loop cooling for over 10 years now, could definitely cover the topics you listed, E. I'll send a PM your way.

That is great, I wil get to your PM as soon as I can. Don't worry about the more exotic cooling too much. We can add to these articles as and when, so a starting point up to WC would be great :).

Just noticed this thread. I don't feel terribly confident in my technical knowledge (at least without seeing an example of what's expected) since I've only been casually involved in the tech scene for the past few years, but I'm fairly happy with my own writing abilities. I'd be happy to work with someone who has the opposite problem or to just proofread or brush up something someone else has written.
