AIDA64 Cache and Memory Bandwidth competition / post your scores here

Recommended Posts

I thought I'd go ahead and give this a whirl. Not sure If I will be a contender with my new setup but I'm just curious to see how these old chips compare with new tech. Just six easy steps!

1) Open AIDA64

2) Select Cache and Memory Benchmark, run test.

3) Only looking at bandwidth in this competition

4) Post your result as well as the primary tab in CPUz next to it

5) Scoring will be done by adding R/W/C result and then dividing by three

6) Please post as seen below:

Just a thought.

Wont the results be a bit unfair to single CCX ryzen users as our writes are handicapped?

Anywho here is mine. Quick dirty totally not stable cr@ppy samsung C-die's at 3800MHz 1:1

Can you explain this a little more? Im an Intel guy since Phenom II days so I'm not sure why this would be a handicap?

I think it's just a Ryzen 3000 limitation. I saw the same thing on my 3600. Write speed is just crap.

Write speeds are 1/2 on single CCD ryzens. They are limited to 16B/cycle. AMD did this to save power budget on single CCD ryzens. And since consumer workloads don't regularly do writes the performance loss is rarely noticed.

Bruh, I'm still over here trying to get my single core systems to even function, so I can do a CPUz run. :sozo:

Seriously though, I might go ahead and do a few runs on this one too here soon since you asked so nicely.  🙂 I actually am upgrading from Ryzen 3600 to a 5800x this week, this might be a good way to show the performance gain I'm getting.  Could run it on all of my existing functional systems too.  Hmmmm...... 🤔

AIDA64 is one of my staples, you will see.  I've been running this benchmark/having competitions with it for years now. So yes, by all means, we would love to see you join in  the comp!

@Storm-Chaser - I think there are some problems with this Aida thread I outline below. Some of them were already raised at the similar OCN thread, including comparing 'apples with oranges with grapefruits'. My screenies below are there for illustration purposes only as I am NOT submitting.

First, the initial entries above all have different Aida benchmark versions, and as Aida states in the fine print, they are not cross-compatible. Check out this first screenie: The first two are identical in the setup of the 3950X, the only difference are the Aida bench versions. The third one on the right is the latest Aida one for the 3950X (run last week), but with a faster RAM kit.

Also, the TR 2950X HEDT read-comp for various Intel and AMD on the bottom is the same Aida version from 2019 as the cache bench for the 3950X on the top left - and therefore not compatible with the later ones.

AIDAver3950x.thumb.jpg.b32dfa97b43aa149695c992675fbf7f7.jpg

I have been running Aida memory benches since late 2012 and still have most of the data (3700K onwards). I've got so many that sometimes I get confused chasing lost bandwidth for a given setup which was only really due to different Aida bench versions. For my own internal comparisons, I usually note the Aida benchmark version...

Aida_new_comp_3800_3866_4000c2u.jpg.c91feafabcafe38bca3506f2f0d2f01a.jpg

Finally, there's also a question of a bug / reliability within the same Aida bench version when the bus speed is changed from stock, at least beyond a certain threshold.

Hope this helps !

Best effort on z820 workstation, two E5 2673 v2 processors (ddr3)

Reports 2667 v2 because that's its retail equivalent.

How is this your best effort when you did 126 GB/s in your last post? Lol

I can see where that was confusing I forgot to add the actual picture of the z820 results to the initial post.

first post was z840 result

second post was z820 result

Seriously though. That 124 GB/s would get you 6th place for DDR4. Worth over 30 points.

okay just do a manual submission from the main site? I have benchmate but dont see anything on there for AIDA64?

I will submit it just need a little direction.

thanks

It's a Beta category. Will need to be manual. Benchmate only covers a very TINY amount of benchmarks that the site runs.

Quick FYI...as pointed out above, make sure that the Aida bench version meets these requirements (some of the above shots don't)
