Rig Creator: Re-ordering Rigs

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

We have made a small alteration to Rig Creator based on user request. You are now able to re-order your Rigs list per your requirements. This means that the order you set, will also reflect in your signature area as well.

Browse to your rigs HERE, the follow the below video to change the order of your Rigs.

All the best,

E

:wheee:

It's kinda working, kinda not on my end.  Might just be because I made the changes and expected them immediately.  Will check back tomorrow (later today).  I ordered mine:  AMDwhee, AMDerp, and then ThunderK7 as my third.  Currently I'm seeing Phenomenon as my third still, but the other 2 are right, and if I go to rig creator they're set right too.

It is REALLY nice being able to set my primary rig as the primary one you see in my sig now though.  Much appreciated! 😄

EDIT:
Yeah tried changing again to having AMDerp as primary, then Tole-hoe, then ThunderK7....just to see how the system works, if it does immediately.  Main rig changed properly to AMDerp.  Secondary still shows AMDwhee and third still shows Phenomenon, which both shouldn't be displayed at all.  So again, will check back in the morning. 🙂

Could you try clearing your cache and seeing if it appears in the correct order. Possibly even just try incognito mode as well.

Glad this is a welcome addition:)

Neither fixed it for me.  Still not showing in correct order in signature, but its ordered correctly under my rigs in settings.

I can at least change the primary one, so that's a huge improvement all on its own regardless. :)

I'm not complaining mind you, I appreciate the fact I can at the very least change the main one.  It's still a welcome improvement regardless.

So after another test, I think I know what might be going on, While you are setting the rig re-order tool, remember that only the rigs that are enabled to show in the signature will show (Irrespective of the order). So essentially, you would need to get your three rigs to the top of the rig list and re-arrange those three as to the order they need to show in order for the changes to reflect in your signature.

To be honest, Im going to aim to make it clearer as I can see it being a point of confusion later.

I completely had forgotten about those buttons, so that was totally my bad.

Maybe make the change so the top 3 are automatically shown in the signature and a button (only on those 3) to HIDE from signature (like they all have now)?  Instead of having the button on ALL the rigs?  And maybe some sort of a separation line between those 3 and the rest of the rigs?  Nothing sharp or drastic, just a page break line like what already separates a post from a signature on the forums for example.  Just an idea, I dunno how difficult it'd be to implement. 🙂

It works GREAT now that I figured out my mistake.

That could work, instead we have added a badge by those rigs in the re-order list that are enabled for the signature so it is more obvious.

That works too!  I got to thinking too, my idea would get complicated.  My idea v2 lol........I think just organizing the "re-order rigs" section so that the top 3 ARE your sig rigs and that's its own separate area to organize in would probably work the easiest long term, and just doing away entirely with the buttons to show / hide in sig.  That way users can just drag them out of their sig in the reorder part.  If that separated section is empty, you've hidden all rigs from sig.  If there's only 1 rig up there, then you're only displaying 1.  And then in your list of rigs, they'd all show up in that same order.  If that makes sense.  So rigs 1-3 are automatically "sig rigs", but if 1-3 (or 2-3 or whatever) is empty, the ones in spaces 4+ just move up a spot in the list in settings to compensate.  I wouldn't THINK that would be too terribly difficult to code since the breaks, borders, fonts and everything are all already there.  It'd just be a matter of getting the "settings" page (before the reorder) to cooperate nicely if the "sig rigs" section isn't fully populated.

Kinda like this, and you could edit the titling to reflect it with the same fonts as the "Drag and drop your rigs to sort...." so that its more clear than my poor MS Paint job.....

image.png.4d68c25d0e719b0425e2cc85b2e19cc0.png.9b8275f0b8e9bfb747ffcfcb671142ee.png

This would do away with the buttons in the settings page entirely, and the confusion.

As is, what you've done definitely helps a TON to realize which ones are shown and which ones are not though.  Just trying to help streamline the whole process with ideas is all.  I'm sure you've probably already got something better in the works anyway. 🙂
