Ah okay, I didn't know that! :p

 

I'd give this a try if I were you, lets see if it works!

 

Go to FAHControl (the advanced client control) - Configure - Expert - and under Extra client options click on the +Add.

In the "Name" box type "client-type" and in the value box "advanced".

Press "Ok" and "Save".

Now you have it set to accept late stage beta units.

I prefer them over the early stage ones, less likely to cause any problems.

But afaik it will give you a wider selection of units to receive, so more chance to fold on all the hardware.

On an other note:

 

Fixed clock for virtually any application gives you a better result, Folding will be the same, so if you can adjust the speed/voltage curve so it remains at a fixed speed and voltage, then you are good. Just watch those temps.

I fixed this, by shutting down MSI afterburner, using the AMD Radeon app and setting the clock speed in a 100mhz window.

Besides that, I undervolted the top GPU by 0.15v and clocked it down 150mhz. That dropped about 12c on both the core and junction temps.

The bottom card is undervolted 0.1v and downclocked it 100mhz. Still stable, no noticeable ppd drop and a good temperature drop!

Just got a new WU after doing that, and I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or not but this is a good 400K PPD more than I get on average with WUs and about 150K PPD more than the highest I've had so far.

I gotta say that I'm extremely impressed by the output this 2070 Super 15.5GHz memory edition has. Only brings my system up to like 250w from the wall or something like that with just the GPU folding. I'd get a bunch of these if I had the money to do so just to do folding. Seems efficient and cost effective.

Honestly? LTT, I'll assume, just has a bunch of hardware posers. Minimal actual high throughput optimized rigs. We can beat most of the teams even though we have less members if we just help each other out.

 

I might do a thing and post it in the discord or maybe gather a voice chat to brainstorm stuff. If we can get the people with the top hardware that want to use their rigs for half day or full day folding to also do a couple other tweaks... I got a good feeling.

I agree, A concentrated group effort goes much further than a larger rag tag group of people. Let's face it, when the Covid hype dies down, lotso teams output will drop when the wannabe folders get bored and drop off the scene. I dont think LTT will keep their spot much after the world goes back to "Normal"

I really need to test these types of Flags as my client is still folding in vanilla. I will apply some and see what difference it makes.

Next unit at 100% so nothing sits in a queue losing time and points.

The packet size thing I noticed in the past would get me quicker, less point heavy CPU work units if set to small. I just do the opposite for the GPU, big, cuz reasons.

Nice, that's a lot of free points!

Good units also make a huge difference, almost 50% ppd less with 3 cards doing low ppd units.

 

@NavJack27 I'll give the small packet size a try.

I'm only running 50% on my cpu, the rest of the cores is for chrome and to keep the gpu happy.
