Thanks! Hah, I feel like I'm the one that needs to do the catching up. I'll rack up some more points for an OCN milestone and then go full force for EHW, chasing after you for that #1 spot. Will be many months though, it feels like watching turtles race or something, despite the sheer amount of points output.

You've got some work to do over here, but 1 billion overall difference is a lot! I don't see myself closing that gap anytime soon.

Catching up takes a lot of time. That's why I chose for a head start for EHW 

I have some plans, if the 3090 performs good enough to justify an upgrade with that price tag I'll get one of them (if in stock somewhere), or some future 3080 "super". There is also a 2080 super that should return to me soon (rma) to replace the 5700xt's (way more ppd and less power). It will take some time though, so you can close the gap a bit

Yeah I've been thinking about how it's expected to perform in F@H, hopefully (also assuming supply actually exists) it doesn't make me regret my used 2080 Ti  purchases too much.

I'm interested in the results once you've done a few units on that 2070. You might want to try folding on the gpu only after you've set a baseline, and check if it does increase the ppd (less heat from the cpu resulting in higher clocks for the gpu).

If I unleash both CPU and GPU to their max clocks, it will go up to 85 centigrade with fans spinning at 4700 RPM. 
If I put more juice on the GPU and less on the CPU, it will stabilize between 72-77 centigrade with fans at 4500 RPM.

That is actually not that bad considering the fact its a laptop. Nice going.

What I was trying to say: if you know how many Points Per Day the CPU and GPU produce together, you could check what the GPU produces alone. 
Compare those results and you might find out that it's more efficient to run GPU only. Less heat most likely means that the GPU will clock a bit higher resulting in lower Time Per Frame so more (bonus)points!

1.4 million on a laptop is really good! Those temps are not bad at all, I was expecting a bit higher

With our current average team PPD we only have 3 teams that will overtake us. With the help of Supercrumpet soon it will only be one!

I will arrange in the next week to run this on a different machine.

I would need to open it up and give it a thorough cleaning and TIM job because it has been 4 years since I took care of it. 

 

Its a dinosaur:

Mobo: X58 Formula III Rampage

CPU : X5650 @ 4.2 GHz. Most likely I will have to drop the clock to 3.8-4.0 GHz to drop case temps for the GPU. 

RAM : 16 GB G-Skill in Dual Channel as I can't run Triple Channel anymore. My cooler killed the socket. Running a Venomous X with a crap load of pressure with Zalman ZF3 fans. For some reason the Triple channel slot no longer works. 

SSD : 960 Pro 512 GB i think. 

GPU: KFA RTX 2070 

Case : Antec 902 with Noctua Fans. 

 

 

As some of you know, I am folding on my 2070 MaxQ Razer. I am no longer worried about temps as it seems the cooling solution is adequate if I do not allow the CPU at full clocks. I gimped it with Throttle Stop between 2.9 and 3.4 GHz while allowing the GPU to clock at times to 1500 MHz. 

 

My worry is the battery swelling because, unlike old school laptops, this battery requires me to open the whole thing and unplug various sensitive connectors which, with my yetti hands, might break.
