Picked up six gallons of distilled to get things ready to run the 2080ti (no pic required; price went from $1.00/gallon to $1.59/gallon).

Also, for my ever growing collection/ménagerie (see my profile cover photo for a sample pic):

As a sucker for interesting gauges, a vintage volts/minutes gauge for frizzy hair treatments (Gene Wilder's not included):

hair-treatments.thumb.jpg.d4c6ee5088b6927e4dc92a8443bd3d0c.jpg

As a 20 year USAF retired vet, a vintage B-52 Chaff Dispenser (ca. 1960, just in time for Dr. Strangelove); should be able to wire up the panel and dispensing lighting in this:

strangelove.thumb.jpg.b90ddb22e436655a283a70107bd6aad1.jpg

Lastly, a vintage thermometer (early mid century), as an old fashioned hardware 'enthusiast' who needs to be able to gauge ambient somewhat accurately

From the early leaked benchmarks I've seen, it looks like AMD is in for some serious competition there.  I think you will do well with that cpu.  In fact, if Intel keeps this up, my next rig will be Intel based, something that I haven't done in years thanks to them insisting that mainstream didn't need more than 4 cores back when Ryzen first came out.  When you get it, please make sure I see any benchmarks you post.

But why is the pre-order $649.99? The MSRP is $589.99

Because they can. 🤣

But, I think $589 is about what they pay for it based on what I saw in one of Steve's GamersNexus videos.

What is that adapter in the bag? Looks like some kinda PWM fan controller or something, but never seen that before.

Yep, pretty much that. I was debating having each fan spin up depending on water temps, but then I would need to upgrade my Quadro for an Octo fan controller... and yeah that's like $100 more. This also makes the cable runs a lot cleaner and neater... because there's 1 cable.

Refreshing my storage as my old weird setup of 8TB -> 2x4TB drives was dumb. Starting off slightly less dumb with just replicating data between these two for now, and then the long-term future goal is to have them be in a dedicated NAS with Unraid or the likes. Also kinda neat how I went 500GB* -> 1TB* -> 2TB -> 4TB -> 8TB -> 16TB. *not pictured.
