@Andrew  - sorry for the pic quality below; we have company and I don't want to turn the main system on, so these are GoPro pics of a  tv screen of the secondary system 🤣. I have a total of 46 aircraft in my listing, and below are:

1.) the row above Volocopter,

2.) the row with Volocopter,

3.) finally, the row below Volocopter (which is also the last row in the aircraft choices menu)...

One thing I do like about this game is that you can see IRL pilots making mistakes.

I've just found out about NeoFly. It's pretty neat, it basically adds a career mode into MSFS.

I've read about NeoFly but haven't tried it yet. FS2020 has a whole subset of custom plug-ins, from 'for pay' special ancient planes (wire and cloth constructions) to substituting Google Maps / Satellite imaginary - I'm sure Microsoft will try to plug the latter hole quickly , though, if they haven't already.

...flying around my neighborhood with the Volocopter while it's snowing and visibility is 'poor' 🤪 :

There are a few paid addons that I would like, but my god they're expensive.

PMDG DC-6 - $70

PMDG 777-200 - $140

PMDG 777-300ER addon (777-200 required) - $30

Aerosoft CRJ 500/750/900/1000 bundle - $95

I suppose the price is justified because all of them are study level addons. I know these take an obscene amount of time and effort to make. This is why I'm very grateful that the A320Neo from FlyByWire is free. I know they're also working on a study level A380, I'm not sure if that's going to be free though.

I've just found out about the Working Title CJ4. It's nearly a study level plane that but it's free. It offers so many improvements over the standard CJ4. Most notably, it's not as twitchy as the stock one and most of the FMS stuff actually works now.

  • 4 months later...

I am looking forward to the next update patch release ( # 10) for FS 2020; it's in beta testing now...it will have DLSS and FSR ! Of course, there are likely to be the usual release problems and patches for the patches, but still, great news.

I'm already getting  some decent performance at 4K max settings, but I might just try 8K again, but with DLSS enabled...

You have an 8k display? Or you just mean like 8k textures?

This is still on my list to pickup. My LG C1 should be here Wednesday. Been kinda holding off on the truly eye candy games till I get it. :wheee:

...8k textures.  The C1 OLED still makes me as happy as on day one. Down the line, the IPS HDR 55' in our bedroom might need replacing, though. That one also has FS2020 on it (2x 2080 Ti).  If/when the tv needs to be replaced, 8k OLED might be nice if prices have come down more...btw, best time to buy these things on average is apparently just before 'black Friday', and/or when a new model has been introduced.

I got mine for under $800 + tax. Think it was $796. Looks like they were clearing them out.

Here in Canada, they're about C$150 - C$ 200 cheaper than a year ago, but some of that has to do with the exchange rate.

I tried out some 21:9 ultra wide resolution for FS2020 on my 48 inch C1 OLED...actually works great and gives you a different FOV experience, though no HDR for that until NVidia updates the driver. Still, a fun experiment and a different 'flying experience'...

Looks great. Haven't picked this up yet (keep forgetting). I did play a little Ace Combat 7 on the OLED the other night and that was awesome.

...FS2020 still has its quirks, but it has come a long way - and SU10 w DLSS/RTX/DX12 could be a juicy service update. What I like about the 48 inch OLED is that it is so big that one can play various custom resolutions (ie ~ 21:9), but I usually just play it at 4096x2160 w/terrain detail at 400/400 since I also like flying low through 'city canyons' rather than just the big mountains.

I bought the PMDG 737, it's pretty good tbqhwufam

And just a few days later, PMDG release the 737-600 for $35 lol

It's well worth the price if you don't want to spend $70 on the 737-700. They're basically the same plane except the 600 is a bit shorter and has better performance (plane, not fps, fps is about the same) due to less weight.
