HOw closely  does this reflect reality.  I ask becuase I have never run passmark and I doubt the average user has.  Unless I'm missing something I don't get how you extrapolate their findings.

A fair point. Still, 15 years since AMD was ahead in the pool of passmark users

Interesting to see that the Linux crowd with respect to AMD saw the largest growth.

that steam survey seems to be a bit random... I was asked to participate once... years ago... not since... I can't help but to wonder if it's really accurate at all given how rare I've seen it... How often, if ever, have you been asked to participate?  

 

btw, I've been through 4 builds since then.

I got it yesterday evening/night. Kind of surprised how little that split has changed considering how many AMD build recommendations I've seen go around in recent months and even years. Perhaps a large offset is from internet/gaming cafes and whatnot that I think are quite popular in Asia (though I guess they wouldn't be too popular right now). IIRC they were responsible for a massive increase in popularity of the 1070 years ago on the Steam hardware survey.

btw, I've been through 4 builds since then.

I let it ck my hardware a couple times a year so it can keep up with the game releases if I want to ck how the required/recommended specs fair against my comp.I have 2 different comps with the same steam acct so it detects which comp it is I'm on.
